I Need Documentation Of Possible Symptoms

My husband has celiac, I might and the baby has two genes for gluten sensitivity. Aimee ( the baby) has had trouble growing from the time she was in the womb. She is breastfed and her doctor has recommended that she be breastfed until she is at least 3 because she is casein sensitive. Milk fat is needed for brain development until age 3. She is 22 mo. old now. I have heard some reference to children having trouble with speech as a result of not growing because of Celiac but it has all been somewhat vague and only mentioned as a side issue. I need more information on this. Aimee is as sharp as a tack, she uses baby signs for a lot of her communication and she says some words but no sentences. She does not put two ideas together in word form. I have been concerned for some time because her speech does not match her intelligence level. Experts in child development are now confirming that she has a significant delay in the area of speech.

My question? Where can I find documentation that her speech problem could be a result of the gluten sensitivity.

Also, I have not heard much about casein sensitivity and the effects it may have had. Where can I find more about that?

Any one who has experiance or info in these areas?

Are you gluten or casein-free?

I don'thave documentation, but my son has had the same symptoms and was allergic to milk too. His speech and walking were delayed, but he's very intelligent. We're probably going to have to start speech therapy soon. Are you gluten and casien free while nursing? I'm nursing my daughter now and have to avoid both of these and eggs for her.

Yes, both Aimee and I have been gluten and casein free for a few months now. After about a month on this diet she started saying more words and has been less fussy. I am becoming a single parent and am struggling with the need to make a living and to keep Aimee home and safe from gluten/casein. Because of the extreme expense of the diet and having no support from husband I am trying to get Aimee on SSI. That is why I am looking for documentation. Has anyone here ever tryed to get on SSI and if so were you successful?

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
