Bry's Bread Is Good

I ordered some Bry's gluten-free bread and it came today in the mail. It is vaccuum packed, not frozen. This bread is meant to be toasted but I just had to take a tiny bite of it at room temp. What a mistake - it was horrid and I figured I'd be throwing the rest of it out - $6 down the drain. Of course I still had to taste it toasted so I made the first grilled cheese sandwich I've had in over six months. Well I don't know how it happens but the bread is just wonderful toasted! It browned just like reg. bread, and the whole texture of it changed. I can not understand how toasting it changed everything about it including the taste but it did. I got mine from www.glutensolutions.com but other sites probably carry it too. The best gluten-free breads are those you bake yourself certainly but when that's not an option, this is a handy bread to have around. It can store unopened for months without being frozen.

I'm a convert! I now buy gfbreadbasket.com breads. They can be eaten plain, no butter, not toasted!

The Cinnimon Raisin and Mock Rye are GREAT no matter how you eat them.

I'm also fond of Ener-g breads: Open Original Shared Link

They are NOT cheap!

From $6 - 9 per 18 slice loaf (approx). And shipping can be a bit much. So I buy 3 - 6 loaves at a time and freeze them the minute they arrive. To eat I lay out slices on a paper towel - they defrost in 5 - 10 minutes - and still taste great.

GFBreadbasket says their loaves are good for 2 months frozen.

Ener-G says their breads are packaged specially to allow 1 YEAR shelf life frozen.

I am SO glad to have my morning toast again!

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
