Hi there everyone. I am sure a few of the children here are on this as well. Nikki has been on this since June 16th 2006. It say 1/2 cap full once a day. I did that for a while but if I give her the 1/2 cap full she had diahhrea like 3-6 times a day. But even a pinch less and she is constipated for 2-3 days. I emailed her GI dr about this,He said try and find the right dose. I have been trying for about 1 month now. And can't find it. Any advice on how you figured it out?

Thanks In advance for help

Hi, my son has been on it since November of 2004. We have the same problem. My bottle says to take 17 grams a day which is up to the line (this is glycolax). While doing that his poop was always very loose and heavy. So then I would lower it and he would struggle for a few days and then not go at all. So I spoke with my ped. and she said to try giving him Acidophilus which is a probiotic (same bacteria that is in yogurt). It is supposed to help the digestive tract move along more healthy. So I started giving it to him on July 3 of this year and have kept the glycolax amount the same, 17 grams. He has had normal poop everyday since. Twice I thought he was going to get backed up but then it fixed itself by the next day. I don't know if this is just a fluke chance that he is doing better but it seems to be working for him. Talk to your doctor first but it comes in liquid for infants and chewables for older kids, and then tablets for adults. Its a natural product so it can't hurt them.

Hi

We are having the same problems...I can't seem to figure out the right amount for my 3yr old

I was giving him 2 tsp but that seemed like too much so I backed down...then he was constipated

If I give him 1 tbsp he goes too much

I tried taking him off it and using flaxseed but that was a disaster

I'll have to look into the probiotics

Thanks, kim

Hi, I spoke with the GI last night and explained how I can't seem to find the right dose of Glycolax for Jacob. He said there will not be 1 right dose. I should dose depending of Jacob's current needs. For example, if he is struggling, give him the full dose but if he is not then cut it back a bit. He said the dose can change daily depending on what is going on that day.

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
