Just Diag'd, Question About Dairy

I don't think I have a problem with dairy, but I'm not sure. Aside from elminating it from my diet are there any tests anyone has taken. I have yet to search the forums more thouroughly, but is there a comprehensive list of products that seem to be gluten free but aren't? One that I don't have to pay for, ie the application in the store on this site. I'm finding it difficult to figure out what ingredients are ok and what aren't. I don't have the money to go fully organic, so I'm still going to have to get a lot of stuff from a regular grocery store which means knowing ingredients. Even a book that someone recommends would help.

I found out I have celiacs last friday so I'm a complete n00b at all this.

Oh, and the most important and probably widely asked question, is there beer that I can drink? ;)

Enterolab tests for casein intolerance -- I imagine there are a number of other labs that do as well. Casein intolerance would indicate that you should eliminate dairy for good. I tested negative, but have found that, since about a month into the diet, I'm incredibly sensitive to dairy as well -- which seems to be the same lactose intolerance that may or may not go away as I heal. I was using Lactaid for a while while I ate dairy, but it began to feel like spinning a roulette wheel because I couldn't seem to control whether I was taking enough or not to digest the lactose, so I've cut dairy out completely for the time being.

I love dairy ... if I have to give up dairy I think I'll just keep eating what I want and deal with the pain and the small life expectancy ;)

I'm right with you on that one -- I love nothing more than cheese, but, for me, the symptoms aren't worth it right now.

man, just thinking about it makes me want some lol ... I love odwala juice and the green stuff I get has wheat in it, so that's out too. But past forgotten foods, does anyone know of a list of stuff we can and cannot eat?

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/

He is. Which makes everything even more difficult. I’m not a believer in “staying for the kids” but I have nowhere to go and it’s not just me, it’s me plus my babies. We live in a beautiful place, lots of land in the country and me and the kids love the place we’ve called home for their entire lives. But Im seeing that he’ll never change, that my kids deserve a happy healthy Momma, and that staying in this as is will be the early death of me. Then I look at the scars covering my entire body…this disease and the chronic stress I’ve been enduring for years that tell me I’m no longer beautiful and no one will ever look at me with interest again. I try self care, try to give myself grace so I can just start loving myself enough to gain strength but the slightest sparkle in my eye and skip in my step attracts his wrath and it all comes crashing ten fold. Life is just absolutely railing me from every single direction leaving me wanting to wave that white flag bc I don’t feel like there’s much hope no matter what happens.
