Dr said it is definatly Celiac now. He thought Hunter got better w/out being gluten-free. I told him the deal. He said to be very strict with the diet. he even said to be obsessive about it.

Anyway, so now I need a gluten-free vitamin for him (he's 3)

a bath soap. He used to use Aveeno, safe? He gets very dry ithcy skin w/ out it. But I hesitate to use it now.

How about Hershey's chocolate syrup. gluten-free? If not then is there an alternative?

TIA for all your help, and for all the help earlier!!

AprilL. In NY, w/ Hunter 3 dx 7-28 on his 3rd B-day

gummy vites are clearly labeled gluten-free

aveeno is NOT safe (oats)

Hershey's will clearly label gluten. I've used their chocolate syrup with no issues, but I prefer Ah laska chocolate syrup because it's labeled gluten-free

Yep - definitely be very strict about the diet.

Aveeno is not safe - they have oat in all of their products. You might try using an olive oil based soap, or looking for other natural soaps. (Tom's of Maine is a good one, IMHO.) That, and applying a good lotion or oil to keep in moisture after the bath. If you can't find a lotion you like (Burt's Bees has a number of good options), you can just go strait jojoba oil.)

I don't know about the vitamins (not kids vitamins, anyway), but Hershey's will label everything, so just check the label. I think it's gluten-free, but ALWAYS read the label. Ingredients can, and do, change at any time. Read the label each time, every time.

This is a great, mild soap--very few ingredients

LOL I just saw a thread in products that you all were going on about it! Is it in health food stores or just online? TIA!!

Hi! We've got a sensitive little one, too-

We use cetaphyl (or the generic from walmart) as a soap- it's not actually soap and is kept in a separate location in the store, I think by the make-up. But we don't use it in the bath, just as a hand soap - el (2) bathes in plain water. Sometimes I add lavender oil, just a drop or two. Johnson and johnson baby shampoo on his hair once a week, and if he's really dirty I add a drop of the shampoo to the bath as it's filling. Anything else and he breaks out. Every night we cover him, head to toe, in jergens lotion. We used to use burt's bees apricot oil.... smelled so yummy, but the jergens works better for him, I think.

El takes Yummy Bears vitamins. There are more that are gluten-free, but most of them contain other stuff he's allergic to.

best wishes!

Whole Foods here (In NJ) carries it. There's a regular size bar and also a larger bar. If you keep it in the shower, make sure that you put it out of the way of the water or it will get gummy and disolve faster. Otherwise, I'm finding it lasts a long time. :)

I was wondering. Since nicole had been gluten free she hasn't had any rashes or been itching alot, like she used to.

Now the IgE antibody they test,Is that how sensative they are or something else?

Nicoles were

IgE- 272 ----------------------- normal: 0-30

TTG- 80 ------------------------- normal: <20

Is that maybe why she was itchy so much before the diet?

Thanks

Celina & Nicole

Sorry for the double post.

After waisted time of new care team, yet again EXHAUSTED saw new gi today in Modesto, though all my ailments im not getting any kind of concern of me being celiac and sentive to just about everything since menopause. Dr daid why don't I go see you guys because my blood shows zero for celiac. I told him im glutenfree since 1994 by colonoscopy with biopsy positive celiac sprue by GI.Its RIDICULOUS when im bringing in material from this site of knowledge as well as the autoimmune institute, and  there's zero interest on their part.Medical IS causing me depression.Im view as a disability chaser, IM STILL RECOVERING from being a bus driver that im still healing and having more issues, now I may have multiple sclerosis or meningioma. Ive reached out, wrote letters, NOT feeling well. This is inhumane.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.
