About a month ago I had a blistery rash between a couple of my toes on both feet. It spread on to the top of my foot but not too far. I assumed it was Athlete's foot, even though I had never had this before. All the Lotramin and foot powder in the grocery store did not get rid of it. When I got a rash on the heels of both hands I figured out it was Poison Ivy!

Discussing celiac disease with people at work I had this light bulb moment - could it be DH. My mother's twin sister was dx 50 years ago and I have a niece with celiac disease (DM at age 9 and celiac disease at age 15).

Anyone have any similar symptoms - ideas. I do not know if it is in my head or not but I feel itchy all over sometimes.

Any help appreciated.

Marilyn

It could be. You should be screened because of the family history.

Some people have said Vic's vapor rub is better for athlete's foot than the Lotromin products.

I think I am feeling the same thing. I keep breaking out on my feet and legs, and sometimes I itch all over. I don't know what it is either, so I guess I can't be of much help. But if there are two of us, it can't just be in our heads, right?

I am going to eat gluten (maybe I just had my last pizza) today and tomorrow and then get in for a blood test. I am sure my M.D. will not want to do it based on the rash so I am going to lie and say I have the typical GI symptoms. Given that if I come back with a negative I am going to consider the genetic testing.

Thanks for the response - I cannot believe it took a month to make the connection. I have not been dx with celiac but facilitate a support group as part of my work (partly begun because of my family history). One lady talks about feeling itchy on her scalp.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.

You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/
