Hey, any good celiac disease Doctors in the Orlando, Fl area????

We also have a Dr. that we've been going to for years with all the health problems that my husband has had. He's been diagnose with IBS, Reflux Desease and all sorts of things. A friend of ours is the one that clued us in on celiac disease as possible problem. My husband has been gluten-free for 4months now without the Docotor's help. He's also been off Priolosec for about 2 months. No wander the Insurance Companies or Doctor's doesn't recognize celiac disease, because once you do the lifestyle change diet, then you stay healthy, then drug companies and Doctor's don't make there money on you, when you have to keep coming back over and over again for tests and drugs. It's a round robin that keeps the drug companies rich.

Now the Life Insurance should recognize celiac disease, because when you are on a gluten-free diet, then you have a better chance of staying healthy and less chance of something happening to you with other related problems. In the long run, I would think it would save them money. At least that's my thought.

Hello,

I too, live in Orlando and have been avoiding going to any support groups or doctors. Kind of just muddling through on my own.

Just wanted to check with you if you have a found a good Dr. as of yet?

My best to you and your husband.

Thanks.

I live in Cocoa Beach and am in the process of finding a GI too, so I can't help you there. I am seeing a new one locally on Monday and am in the process of being referred to Shands in Gainesville, FL.

But here is the website for our support group. We have an excellent leader and all around group.

I'm sure he will know of a support group in Orlando who could tell you which doctor to see. If not, come over to our group. We meet February 11th at 1pm ... And we are having a pot luck dinner / gluten-free beer tasting party ...

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
