Has anyone tried these oats? And has anyone reacted to them? I would love to make monster cookies for my son, but am afraid of getting him sick. :( I would love some feedback !

Thanks !

Sarah

This is the company I use. I have really enjoyed adding oats back into my diet. I followed their directions on the website as to how to introduce oats into the diet. I went very slowly so I could figure out if it was a reaction to the oats or just an increase in fiber in my diet. I never had a problem. I had my bloodwork done in the spring and it looked great.

This was an easy decision (to eat oats) because I am the one with celiac. Is your son old enough to tell you if he gets a reaction?

Hi,

I tried to buy some oats from their site last week, and got a message saying that due to extremely high demand, they are sold out! You can give them your email address and they will alert you to when the new crop is ready. I was bummed about this, but also glad that the demand is there so that they will continue to grow them! I don't know if there are any other sources for their oats, ie. distributors or health stores who might still have some in stock.

Thank You much ! My son is 3, so I think I will hold off a little longer on them. But thank you for the input I was kinda curious.

      Thanks for your assistance.

Get your total IGA checked to make sure your celiac antibody test scores are trustworthy.

I do eat 4 slices of wheat bread with almond butter. Yes it was a reference to my iron consumption.

To give you a frame of reference for pretesting gluten consumption necessary to ensure valid antibody testing, here is the current recommendation for those who have been on a gluten free diet: The daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten (about the amount in 4-6 slices of wheat bread) for at least two weeks. Not sure why you mentioned eggs and chicken. They are not sources of gluten. Was that in reference to dietary iron consumption?

Thanks for your insight. I've been eating wheat bread at least 5 times a week for several months. I've been eating chicken or eggs 5 days a week for at least a year.
