(Sorry guys...Now, he'll act like a genuine tamponhead, with a stuck up attitude and a swelled ego)

Hey, I'm just glad she started w/ "Now".

DingoGirl Enthusiast
I have had a couple drinks tonight.

Susie, I have been reading this thread for a while before posting, and now... at random times during the day, the word "Mojito" pops into my head. Why does this happen? I don't know, except that I love words, and oh my gosh I have brownies in the oven, hold on.

SARAH!!! utter and complete (slightly) inebriated goofball, with mojitos and brownies!!!! oh my gaaaaaawd, where do you live, I"m coming right over!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P And YES, tell your hubby that we talk about POOP and anything else we feel like talking about! (except for this thread, which, like a Seinfeld episode, is about NOTHING!)

*cough*....*splutter* ermmm.....not on your nelly Patti !!!

My kitchen is quite squalid  ....needs the re-model.....but I'm just waiting on that lottery win ;)

 she said squalid. A word I particularly love.

This weather is HEINOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! Give me my October. (need pumpkin emoticon)

oh my Looooord - - we have crystal clear and sunny here, and my friend and I, who watched movies last ngith and into today (she spent the night, avoiding the necessary drudgery of her squalid house - undergoing heinous remodel) were FURIOUS and sad that it wasn't raining and dreary and stormy and cold - that is what WE like best!! you can HAVE this stinkin' sunny weather!!!!! we are SICK of it!!!!!!!

oh Bev - so sorry about the ankle. Here's hoping you are drinking cosmos and jumping on the trampoline again QUITE SOON. :)

Carla - love the house!!!

Hi Julie!

and everybody else - - halloooooooooooooooo!!!

(my bad!) ;)

Oy it was SO hard to get yesterday's post done! I started it early afternoon and finally hit send w/ my head on the pillow. (Hmmm, to clarify, I DID actually hit send with a finger, WHILE my head was on the pillow)

OK now THIS next set of occurences may require some suspension of disbelief. (Or maybe only if a guy is reading it?)

1st John buys a 46" widescreen TV.

2nd Somehow, and this surprised the $&!*# outta me, plain old rabbit ears receive digital tv signals and we're getting a dozen HiDef channels free, over the air. :o:) :)

3rd A work buddy gives John 4 tickets to today's 49ers game!!!!!!!

I'm uncertain whether everyone will appreciate how special attending an NFL game is. I'm a HUGE football fan (Nikki - don't start w/ me! You know what I mean! ) and yet haven't BEEN to an NFL game since '89. It aint' baseball w/ their 81 home games. Each team has only 8. I'd bet that millions of NFL fans have NEVER attended a game.

So it's immense to suddenly be going to an NFL game AND there's more tickets coming!! Niners play in "Monster Park", nee Candlestick, and Monster Cable is one of the guys' biggest clients, as he's the main tv/audio buyer for Frys!!! (Only those w/ a Frys nearby will appreciate the significance of that - and uh oh . .. . .maybe no one? They're mostly in the west, but Indy has one. Donna!!! YOU know how huge Fry's is!! Tell 'em!! )

Anyway - time to chill the Redbridge for tailgating at the 'Stick!!!! (I'm tellin ya, this is HUUUUUUUUGE!! I got chills writing that!)

<if these great things keep happening I may need to hire someone to follow me around pinching me. My DREAMS aren't always this unbelievable!)

Have a wonderfully Silly Sunday everyone!!! :D:)

Sunday Silly-

A Hole Behind

A man, while playing on the front nine of a complicated golf course, became confused as to where he was on the course.

Looking around, he saw a lady playing ahead of him. He walked up to her, explained his confusion and asked her if she knew what hole he was playing.

She replied,

Tom, I hope you had a good time at the game. I've been to three NFL games ... in high school our marching band marched at both a Cleveland Browns and a Cincinnati Bengals game. Then a few years ago I went to a Colts game ... it was wasted on me though ... not much of a football fan here ...

 Next time you're coming out to the other side of the country (North Carolina,) let me know and we'll have a party! I looove throwing parties. Next spring we're going to build a pond with a waterfall going down the hill in our back yard, and add onto our back deck. Normally this type of thing would probably be beyond our means, especially with me going back to school soon, but my dad excels in building and landscaping, and he will work for food as long as I help ;)

Nikki, love your choice of name for your kitty...Will is my DH's name, as well. Means "strong protector". Dunno about my husband, but I bet that kitten could offer up some resolute protection! :) He looks adorable.

Tom, I won't agree entirely with the mass, who strongly dislike football. I have followed the NFL a little, but I must tell you, here in Canada we did do one thing right many years ago, and that was create a VERY exciting, entertaining world of football. It is a much, and I do mean much, faster, more enthralling game in the CFL than in the NFL. Three downs, a longer field (end zones), big, scrappy players that are making a third of what the NFL superstars are...the stadiums are electric! I've gone since I was a young kid, and we take our kids to games now. Have you ever watched a CFL game? If you get the chance, do!

Ahhhh....I'm always so far from all the action. :( Sarah, I wanna come to your party, too, but I'm just too far away from NC! Man, we Canadians are too far from everything...no fair.

-_- OK, now that I'm back, I will share some of my son's photos. I wanted to wait until we got back so none of them would be up for too long. Here is one that makes me think he was auditioning for the Blair Witch Project

Just saw your thread from August about riding- has your daughter gone yet? I LOVE horses and riding

I happened to sit with a "talker" on the plane yesterday. (You never know how those are going to turn out.) Fortunately for me, she had a lot of local horse knowledge. Knows the different barns . . . who is good for lessons for young kids . . . who is giving pony rides vs who is teaching them how to take care of a horse . . . stuff like that. So I got off the plane with a couple of phone numbers and an invitation to bring my daughter over to visit her farm (15 horses). I'll have to do a drive-by (my stalker instincts kicking in  )

Football . . . yes, I do enjoy it . . . always root for the home team no matter where I live. I like to go to the game once in a while but don't feel the need to be a season ticket holder (I'm not made of money, you know!) I also don't care to watch any of the other games other than the home town team. I am a football widow, though. Might as well not even talk to my husband on Sundays - he can only grunt on those days. He's out with the guys every Monday night to watch the game at the bar. He was in a Fantasy Football league before most people had even heard of them. He gets spreadsheets and magazines and emailed notifications to help pick the best team each year. Research starts in June . . . It's a wonder that I will even watch the home team.

OK - emoticons . . .

 stalker emoticon

 Umm, OK, sure, I meant to do that

<_< I knew that wouldn't work

:D I bleach my teeth

-_- shhhh, don't talk now, I'm listening to the voices in my head

B) I play the sax, you can call me Woodly

Waynesville is about 3 1/2 hours southwest of us. I've never been to Waynesville, but I used to live in Boone, NC- north of there. Western NC is absolutely beautiful. Also, I saw the exterior pic of your house, and I just love it!

It is a beautiful area. She actually lives right next to Cold Mountain.

Football . . . yes, I do enjoy it . . .

I enjoy all that goes along with going to a football game ... the game itself is incidental ... I prefer college football.

:D I bleach my teeth

Or, Carla when she gets her braces off and whitens her teeth. :D

I cannot begin to tell you how much mouth pain I'm in. The ortho adjusted them and I got a new wire across my mouth. The wire was too long and it has made big sores in the back of both sides of my mouth. I filed it down on both sides, not easy to do, LOL. Now I have wax over it so the sores can heal. I can hardly eat ... in fact, I don't eat much. I also have six ruber bands pulling my teeth together, so I keep clenching my jaw because it's too difficult to open. Ouch.

PS... I help care for someone in their 90s, albeit part time, but have just been in hospital for a while with him and it has reminded me, even for someone in better physical shape, which I am now, thankfully, it can be very tough on one's health/sleep/mood.  I think what I am trying to say is you are going through a lot all at once, it is not surprising that you are not feeling 100 per cent. Even if we love our relative to bits, and they love us, they often can't understand that we too have lives, and need to keep our houses, families and jobs in running order. Something has to give, but it's often the carer!  When a loved one is resistant to change, it makes things even more exhausting.  Often it has taken a crisis for me to be able to introduce the help that has actually been needed for so long.  It sounds as if you are doing an amazing job but can you get any support from any carers associations or other groups where you live, which might help?

hmm you got me curious as I have suspected that certain foods with sugar may be an issue for me so I googled this and came up with this: " Key Compounds Causing Reactions in Gluten-Free Foods: Fructans: Often found in foods that are gluten-free but high in fiber (e.g., inulin, chicory root), acting as a trigger for digestive issues similar to gluten. Fructose (Fructose Malabsorption): A sugar found in fruits, honey, and high-fructose corn syrup. Some individuals cannot properly absorb this sugar, leading to fermentation in the gut. Sugar Alcohols (Polyols): Examples include mannitol, sorbitol, and xylitol, commonly added to gluten-free, sugar-free products to maintain sweetness. Lactose: A disaccharide found in dairy that frequently causes issues in individuals with damaged gut linings, a common occurrence in celiac disease.  These reactions are often classified as dietary intolerances (such as fructan intolerance or fructose malabsorption) rather than allergies. They are commonly found in packaged "gluten-free" products like bars, cereals, and processed snacks. " hope this helps.

Hi @EvieJean I was delighted to read @hjayne19's comments about A LIfe at Last as the book definitely helped me to understand how anxiety works.   You may be suffering from vitamin and mineral deficiencies which will can contribute to and even cause anxiety. Have you had any tests done?  If you have and 'normal' results , do take a second look at the levels.  Low normal, for instance, in iron and B12, may still be causing you anxiety, so you may need to consider supplementation.  (If you do this, best talk to your GP, particularly regarding iron, as it needs regular monitoring. - too much in the blood can be dangerous) When I was first diagnosed, my GP was happy when my ferritin levels were c. 11 n/gL (just on the cusp of our local normal lab readings) whereas a consultant I saw some months later for continuing mouth issues said, 'Far too low! and told me my levels should at least be at 40.   Another example is B12 -  in some countries a reading of 500 is considered the start of normal levels, in the UK normal range starts at 180 n/gL.  I feel much better when my B12 is at a higher level. If you are feeling depressed and generally stressed I'd also consider reading Dr Steve Llardi's book The Depression Cure which aims to address these issues with   physical exercise,  omega-3 fatty acids, natural sunlight exposure,  restorative sleep and social connectedness.  I have given this book to many people who found it helpful, and a relative of mine who is a doctor thinks it is fantastic.   The run up to my diagnosis and for some time afterwards I had terrible brain fog, insomnia and intrusive thoughts.  In time, with the supplementation, and also the above books, I did feel so much better.  I really hope that you can find some help with the above, and remember, try to keep your diet as gluten free as you can.  Also, please come back to us if you have any further questions. @EvieJean Im sorry you’re going through that. I also find it frustrating to navigate different medications. However, it sounds like you have some bad anxiety - I went through and am going through the same thing. One of the posts in this chain recommended a book to me called “a Life at Last” by Paul David. I can honestly say it changed my life. Once you stop trying to think and fix your way out of anxiety it can bring a lot of peace. I found by taking these methods and suggestions into my daily life it did in fact improve my sleep! I also did a full blood panel and found my vitamin d was on the lower end. So currently taking vitamin d and feeling alot better. It sounds like you’ve had repeated gluten exposure so your gut may be delayed in healing. I’m no expert by any means but I really suggest reading the book and hopefully it’s a start!  @EvieJean Im sorry you’re going through that.
