Hi! I've always been told that eating canned fruits & vegetables were a big no-no. But then I heard someone else on the boards talking about how they eat them. So are they safe or not?

I don't no why they wouldn't be ok. I have never seen anything to the contrary.

As with every manufactured product, some companies will toss in a little wheat because....??????

Do your homework, check with some product list or call the manufacturer's 800 #. Use caution and you'll be fine. As with everything else, some veggies by some companies will be fine, while other veggies by the same company won't be gluten-free. Go figure. Research a couple of brands regarding the fruits and veggies that are staples for you, and then stick with those, watching to be certain they don't suddenly change their ingredients or processing in ways that would add gluten.

most are just fine, I have seen some brands (or generic off brands) where they toss in a little wheat flour, what for I don't have a clue, but for the most part most canned fruits and veggies are just fine. I get Publix store brand canned veggies or some of the canned veggies at Aldi's. (I wrote to Aldi and got confirmation on which of the fruits and veggies canned and frozen were ok).

Some varieties of chili beans or creamed corns or sweet potatoes do have wheat added, other than that I haven't really seen any canned veggies or fruits that aren't ok.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
