Does anyone else experience hairloss after being exposed to gluten? Everytime I accidently eat gluten a month later my hair starts falling out.(thinning noticably) No bald spots but it gets very thin!

i experience hair loss after being glutened but it happens much sooner than a month, just a couple of days later and it lasts longer than all my other symptoms. I was told that it is a pretty commom side effect

I have been losing my hair since i went gluten-free.

NO bald spots but it is definitely coming out in clumps!

I lost over eight inches of my hair in the back and its 1/3 of the thickness it use to be and it was thin to begin with. My bangs are now 6 inches long and I didnt have bangs before it was the same length as my hair in the back. I havent noticed any new growth back yet but I have been dealing with intolerances also so I think its been holding it back. Almost six months gluten free and only a few days corn free.

Im also on a biotin supplement, its suppose to be good for hair and nail growth.

I also get hair loss. Before I went gluten-free, it wasn't clumps, but was quite a lot. To the point where I showed a friend of mine how much was coming out when I just ran my hands through my hair and it startled her. Now, I get increased hair loss for a couple days after being glutened and then it goes back to normal.

Hair loss can be an indication of thyroid disease and guess what? Thyroid autoimmune diseases are often linked to celiac! The other thing that seems to cause hair loss is sudden weight loss. But get your thyroids checked!

Well.........I do feel better knowing I am not alone. I am going to go back on the Biotin again. I took it for awhile when I first started the gluten free diet. Not sure if it helped or the diet took care of it but I'll give it try. Thanks for sharing!

Hello everyone, this my first time to this website and I need some help. I’m 65 years old and have been living with Celiacs for about 15 years. My doctor has suggested I start taking a probiotic named  Integrative Pro-Flora-Concentrae. Has anyone else used this probiotic specifically? If this one isn’t celiac friendly can you recommend another please. Thank you.

If a Celiac person is successful in following a gluten-free diet, they can go into remission.   They may not have a reaction to gluten without a precipitating event like an injury or infection or even emotional or mental stress.   Following a strict gluten-free diet at home, then indulging in gluten containing products abroad without a reaction can be explained by this remission.
