Our family once in a while does a theme dinner, easy since most of us live gluten free. We had a chinese night my job was the rice rolls. Here's the recipes I used. Obviously the mexican one wasnt chinese but still tasted really good.Make sure rice roll skins are at room temperature.

EASY RICE ROLLS

1 bag shredded cabbage with carrots

2 cups shredded chicken or canned chicken

4 cubes chicken bouillon or instant bouillon

1/2 gallon oil for deep frying

rice paper rolls

Cook cabbage, carrots, and chicken with bouillon until boiling. Drain all liquid. Using towel or paper towels make sure mixture is dry. Fold into rice wraps and seal with egg.

EASY RICE ROLLS 2

1 lb. lean ground beef

1 pkg. shredded cabbage or 1 sm. head of cabbage

1 onion (med.)

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

2 tbsp. sugar

1/4 tsp. garlic salt

1/4 c. soy sauce

rice paper rolls

Put cabbage and onion in large bowl. Brown ground beef and then stir in remaining ingredients (except skins). Add mixture to cabbage and onion. Stir well. Put filling in each wrapper. Deep fry until golden brown. Do not use high heat. The skins will burn. Oil should be 375 degrees. When wrapping shells have 1 slightly beaten egg white to use to dab on corner of skins to help seal them. Make sure rice roll skins are at room temperature.

MEXICAN RICE ROLLS

1 lb. ground beef

1 pkg. taco seasoning

1 can refried beans, warmed

1 lb. Cheddar cheese, shredded

1 sm. chopped onion

rice roll wrappers

1 egg, well beaten

Brown ground beef with taco seasoning. Spoon small amounts of meat, beans, cheese, and onion onto center of rice roll wrapper. Fold according to directions on package. Use egg to seal wrappers closed. Deep fry until lightly brown. Dip in salsa or guacamole

AMERICAN RICE ROLLS

Filling

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef, round

Bean sprouts

1 c. celery

Green onions

1/2 med. cabbage

Chinese lettuce

3 tbsp. soy sauce

rice rolls

Chop all ingredients fine. No salt. Brown meat with uncooked vegetables. Fill rice roll wrappers with mixture. Wrap tightly and seal with 1 beaten egg. Fry in 350 degree oil until golden brown on all sides. Use your own amount of oil and filling.

Use beef, pork, shrimp, or ham. I used ham for this one.

I heard that many boullion cubes contain gluten. Which ones don't?

Guest AutumnE

I use celifibr chicken bouillon poulet, its gluten and msg free. It was $1.99 from my local health food store for six. You can also use glutino chicken flavored soup base and just put in two teaspoons of it for every bouillon cube that you use. It generally runs around $4 for a good size container.

I use McCormick boullion cubes. McCormick will clearly indicate gluten on the label if present.

I use Harvest Sun I believe it is, they are organic and list glute-free etc. on the package.

After waisted time of new care team, yet again EXHAUSTED saw new gi today in Modesto, though all my ailments im not getting any kind of concern of me being celiac and sentive to just about everything since menopause. Dr daid why don't I go see you guys because my blood shows zero for celiac. I told him im glutenfree since 1994 by colonoscopy with biopsy positive celiac sprue by GI.Its RIDICULOUS when im bringing in material from this site of knowledge as well as the autoimmune institute, and  there's zero interest on their part.Medical IS causing me depression.Im view as a disability chaser, IM STILL RECOVERING from being a bus driver that im still healing and having more issues, now I may have multiple sclerosis or meningioma. Ive reached out, wrote letters, NOT feeling well. This is inhumane.

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.
