Hey gang, I saw this on Emeril Live ! last night and it occurred to me as I was watching it that it is a gluten free dessert (and incredibly easy to make) - I am going to make this for my nieces at X-Mas!

Enjoy:

Emeril's POPCORN M&M CAKE (From www.foodnetwork.com)

Here's something great that my mom, Miss Hilda, used to make for the holidays when I was a kid. It's very versatile and you can change it around to suit your tastes. Instead of plain M&Ms, use the new dulce de leche flavored ones or peanut ones, add chocolate chips, substitute almonds for the peanuts. You get the idea --- make this your recipe! Be sure, though, to use plain, unbuttered, unsalted, popcorn.

2 teaspoons plus 1/4 cup vegetable oil

12 cups popped popcorn (plain, unsalted and unbuttered)

2 cups M & M candies

1 cup lightly salted cocktail peanuts

1 stick unsalted butter

1 pound (Kraft) marshmallows

Grease a large tube or bundt cake pan with 2 teaspoons of the oil, and set aside.

In a large bowl, mix the popped corn with the M & M candies and the peanuts.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter, remaining 1/4 cup of oil, and marshmallows over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally. When melted, pour over the popcorn mixture, and stir to combine. Pour into the prepared cake pan, pressing down to fit. Cover with aluminum foil to keep moist and let rest until firm, 3 to 4 hours.

Now that sounds like a deliciously festive snack. Yummy

thanks for the recipe yum!

We have done something slightly different before it was a big hit.

We did two different popcorn cakes. With the first one we mixed marshmallows and butter melted and added 2 tbsp of jello flavoring powder.

The other one we mixed cut up butterfinger bars and mixed it in instead of the jello flavoring. tasty too.

A fluted bundt pan gave it a cute look. Or cookie cutters could be cute too. Also a silicone pan allows you to not have to prepare the pan, you can pop it right out when its ready.

Im sure it will be a big hit :) What a nice uncle you are :)

I make this every year. It is VERY good. I make it for other holidays too, you can add almost any candy to it, it doesn't have to be m & M's. We have done gumdrops, corncandy, sixlets. You name it.

It usually is gone before anything else. So I make two.

Thanks, so much! My grandma was getting frustrated after finding out I can't have rice krispies cereal, since she promised to make me a dessert on Xmas since I'm flying all the way over there.

I emailed her this recipe, since it seems kinda easy! I'll let you know if she works it out!

Thank you to the person who posted this recipe. I made it into "popcorn marshmallow treats" by halving the recipe and substituting chopped-up Reese's peanut butter cups for the M&M's (I thought the colors in the M & M's would probably smear when the melted marshmallows went on them) and pressed it into a greased 13 x 9 pan. They were very good.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.

To evaluate the TTG antibody result we’d need to know the normal range for that lab.  Labs don’t all use the same units.  However, based on any normal ranges that I’ve seen and the listed result being greater than a number rather than a specific number, I’d say yes, that is high! Higher than the range where the test can give a quantitative result. You got good advice not to change your diet yet.  If you went gluten free your intestines would start to heal, confusing any further testing,
