hey fellow iowans!!

i discovered an AMAZING pizza that is sold by hyvee stores. it was "invented" by a guy that has a talk show on the radio and the crust is made of cheese. you may have heard about it because i believe he's talked about it on air, but i just wanted to let everyone know that it is completely worth it to try!!! it tastes like a REAL, normal, greasy piece of pizza-parlor pizza!!! :D haha def. not something you should eat on a regular basis...but the best pizza i've had in ages. it's found in the normal freezer section with other frozen pizzas in an orange box!

Good to see you Katrinamaria..you look so young!! I too have heard this new pizza advertised lately

on WHO..Van harden is his name. think he is also the one who invented a clock - calendar so his not well mother could tell time. As soon as I get over lactose intolerance I want to try it too.

Also in case you don't know it Hy Vee has a long list of gluten free foods that are available in their stores. Our small store has a small health food section too and if you have their list you can find a lot of gluten free foods there. Hy Vee stores in Des Moines have very good selection and dd brings me items from there..$70.00 worth of it this last weekend. She is a jewel!! I made some of the best bread/ yeast in my bread maker, served it to all and all liked it. ;) So glad you came on

and told about the pizza. hope you are well!! :) Just type in gluten free at Hy Vee and you ahould get the list, it ws updated 2 months ago. evie

thanks evie! i know i'm in love with the health food area at hyvee too!! we have a whole new store here in CF and it is great! i'll have to check out their website. people just don't understand that out here on the prairie we don't have the great big health food stores or anything like it! :D haha that's great about your bread! i love a gluten-free food success. i hope you get a chance to try the pizza, it was really a treat

These are GREAT pizzas. We tried them as soon as we found out about them. Our favorite is the sausage. My non gluten-free husband loves these. Myself and my daughter who are gluten-free were thrilled to have found an edible pizza. HyVee is great around here about getting things in that you request and carries more gluten-free foods than the local health food stores do. We live in eastern Iowa.

Good News. I talked with Van Harden the other day, he invented the Cheese Crust Pizza selling at Hy-Vee stores. Well, he said that starting Feb 19th, 2007 you can order the Van Harden Frozen Cheese Crust Pizzas from his web site. Open Original Shared Link

My wife and I have had both the fresh and the frozen Van Harden pizza, and we like the frozen the best!

I'm very confused... My blood test came out negative, I checked all antibodies. I suppose my Total IgA levels are normal (132 mg/dl), so the test should be reliable. Still, I'm not relieved as I can't tolerate even a single biscuit. I need to talk to my doctor about whether a duodenal biopsy is necessary. But it is really possible to have intestinal damage despite having a seronegative results? I have really strong symptoms, and I don't want to keep skipping university lectures or being bedridden at home.

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.
    • JettaGirl
This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.
