Hi

My name is Melissa and I'm 16 years old. I went through both colonoscopy and endoscopy just fine, its just the afterwards im having problems with. I have massive pain in my lower abdomin that was worse then when i first got the procedure done. I've been taking gas pills and doing everything I can to expell but it seems liike nothing is working. Is this normal? :(

Hi Melissa and welcome. It's hard to say what is normal, I slept a lot after. The gas pain should pass shortly but if it doesn't I would call your doctor.

I had those tests done seperately but the gas pain was horrible from the colonoscopy (test done first) and I actually took a warm/hot bath and that helped. I then took a nap and felt much better.

For the endoscopy I just was tired from the meds given to relax you.

My whole stomach hurt. Kind of burning or something. I think from all the biopsies they did. I had both at the same time too. Anyway, Tylenol helped me. My problem wasn't so much gas. My mom was in pain longer then I was, but she had a polyp removed.

I didn't have much discomfort from the gas post-colonoscopy, but I did have alternating chills/sweats for about 3 days afterwards. I mostly was just STARVING after the colonoscopy.

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
