Ugh- First Glutening Since Diagnosis

i am so sick this morning. i can't believe i lived the past five years of my life like this without knowing what was wrong. i've felt so good the past three weeks and i really didn't feel bad until i woke up this morning to D. Thank god I've been keeping a food journal so I can look back at what I ate yesterday to try and figure it out. It was either the soup that was SO yummy but had soy or the new vitamins (all gluten-free) that I started. Oh why did I mess with what was working?!??!?! :(

I know it's hard to have a setback so soon. I'm fairly new to this also. I was using a lip gloss for 3 weeks after going gluten free that had gluten in it. Check all your soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, body washes, perfumes and cosmetics. It's good that you are keeping a food diary. I hope that you figure it out.

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute.
