Kevin Tredeau - The Weight Loss Cure

I see this guy all the time on TV talking about his weight loss cure that is known all around the world. Do any of you know what this is, I am interested but too cheap to buy the book until I know more about it. He states that all "diets" are created to fail, that once you stop a diet, you gain back more than you loss.

Anyway, if anyone has read this book, can you give me just a bite of what it is about!?

Thanks

Daisy Duke

I found this on amazon. There are several reviews that discuss what's in the book.

That link doesn't work here is what someone said. It say's it all for me.

I picked up this book on eBay just to see what KT could possibly come up with that hasn't already been touted by every diet plan guru out there. And -- no surprise -- what is proposed in this book is completely ridiculous if only in terms of affordability and availability. The "key" to the weight loss is daily injections of hcg -- which you would have to either get from your doctor (can you imagine the cost of going to a doctor every day, including weekends, for 6 weeks to get an injection of a substance that the FDA has banned? And don't worry about finding a doctor willing to break the law -- there's a list on KT's website -- you just have to become a member for a nominal fee) or somehow you can sneak the substance into the country on one of your visits abroad and you can self-inject (no promises you'll get the stuff through customs though.) Oh yeah, and those 15 high colonics he recommends? A bit pricey. And that sauna you'll need to purchase for your home since you need to take a couple of those a day? That's kind of pricey too. And I don't think I'd be able to eat any food at all after taking all the supplements required in order to follow this plan. But that's probably not a problem since you're only allowed to eat 500 calories a day anyway.

Not everyone has the luxury of jetting off to a health spa/resort for six weeks in Germany in order to indulge in this kind of weight loss protocol -- or to make it part of a business venture and write off the expense.

Quite obviously there are a whole lot of details that Trudeau cleverly leaves out in all his hype and promotion of this book. It's certainly not something that the average person can (or would want to) undergo. I'm certainly not the only person to post this warning to prospective buyers -- please save your money. And I gave the book a 1 star rating only because I didn't know if giving it a -- (what I assume is a 0 rating) would count in the average rating. It honestly doesn't deserve even 1 star in my opinion.

Pure trash.

It's really too bad Kevin Trudeau is so greedy, wanting us to buy his book, and then pay big bucks to "join" his website to get the "Secret" to weight loss, which is injections of HCG.

The sad part is, in his first two books (which are NOT well-written or well-documented, by the way), he DOES make valid criticisms about the pharm industry, the FDA, western medicine in general, etc.

What a pity he uses this as a ploy to bilk desperate people--he could use his knowledge as a way to help people. And he never mentions gluten in his books, either--because he can't make any $ by telling anyone about it.

Dear Fiddle-Faddle,

I must say I agree that Trudeau makes valid claims against the government, pharmaceuticals, FDA, FTC, and western medicine. Although he had not mentioned gluten, he did lead me on my path to finding out I was Celiac. You see, I got his book "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About". In it, he cited Yeast Candida as a leading cause of acid reflux and major gastrointestinal distress. That is when I began researching Candida. In doing so, I needed to find a doctor who was literate on the matter in order to be diagnosed and treated. The woman at the local healthfood store recommended the holistic physician I am seeing now. She is the one who diagnosed me with Celiac.

Sincerely,

NoGluGirl

I have Kevin Trudeau's Books. And I see the negative posts on this site regarding them. I was a bit surprised as I think many if not most who deal with celiac disease understand how significantly certain food elements can negatively affect the body. In Kevin's book the HCG option is that... an option not a requirement or the only way you can lose weight or even the foundation. There are other options listed as well including a number of supplements that if you research them have proven to be very successful with weight loss and even some other illnesses/problems as well such as: 100% pure coconut oil (I am using the capsules and find they do work much better than prescription drugs out there).

The core of what "the cure" is has to do with eating organic natural foods without the additives and chemicals that are packaged foods are loaded with and even many of our seemingly natural foods like fresh vegis and fruits and different forms of meats have even been loaded with preservatives and additives! If you do even a small amount of research you will find that since these chemicals have been used so heavily (from the late 60s/early 70s on) they are virtually in all of our non-organic foods. The preservatives and false foods (ie: diet sweeteners) & additives (all being chemicals that our bodies were not designed to process) have not only hugely contributed to and caused much obesity, but also cancer and a host of other health related illnesses. That's a fact!

I don't think people want to accept his findings (which he very openly and repeatedly states are not his ideas but truths and information he has compiled) as then they would have to change the way they shop and eat. No more grabbing al those quick, tasty convenient foods we have all around us. It takes more effort to relearn to shop and eat. But then again how much does it cost to live as obese with all the health issues that surround being overweight and the other areas that our culture's food related manufacturers have contines to eascalate the massive use of cheap preseratives - sweeteners and other unnatural, highly damaging chemicals poured into the foods to the point it has become the norm of our society, therefore they are most of what is out there and easy to use?

Hospital stays, loss of quality of life and death are huge prices to pay for convenience and/or not taking what these chemicals are doing to us seriously and relearning how to eat properly even if it takes more effort to do so. I have lost over 200 LBS in the past and had a 10 minute weekly slot on a morning 60 minutes show out west called "Body by Brenda" for over a year. And yet after a brutal divorce where I left everything and went back east, I gained over 100 lbs back. Believe me it is terribly devistating to be so full of energy and then find yourself back in a huge much slower moving body as I did. If you put the cure, which is for the most part changing the way you shop and eat, into practice, it will change you life bottom line. It won't be easy - change never is, but it is so very very worth it. I value energy and quality of life as never before and the sacrifices of change are small compared to the results.

Blessings, Brenda

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.

It could be a fructan intolerance? How do you do with dates?  https://www.dietvsdisease.org/sorry-your-gluten-sensitivity-is-actually-a-fructan-intolerance/

Thank’s for addressing the issue of mushrooms.  I was under the impression that only wild mushrooms were gluten-free.  Have been avoiding cultivated mushrooms for years. Also, the issue of smoked food was informative.  In France last year, where there is hardly any prepared take-out food that is gluten-free, I tried smoked chicken.  Major mistake!
