Another Positive Response From My Gp

I don't trust doctors or the entire medical field. 11 years of being sick and being told I need a shrink rather than finding out what was wrong made me a little leary.

I went gluten-free in Jan. of this year after some research and a really bad time with my stomach. Like most other's here, after a month-I saw an amazing change. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 3 weeks ago by the Nurse Practioner and was having a terrible reaction to Synthroid, so I went to the Dr. this time. I discussed the Hashimoto's and Celiac's with him. He asked if I had been tested and I said no, just saw very positive dietary response. He said "I don't have to pin a test on you in order to say it's true. If you feel beter gluten free, coupled with the Hashimoto's and pernicious anemia, that is enough proof for me" That is my goal, to keep you healthy. WWWWWOOOOOHHOOOOOOO, I expected a fight or him to insist on a gluten challenge and he understood why I didn't want to do it.

Yea! He did say at the end, his goal is to now restore my faith in some doctors and the medical field. <_<

Kat.

HI

I have a fairly good Family doctor, he told me that if I feel better on the diet then continue on with it. and hope i feel better for it. Last year when I went to him to get my referral to my gastro he didnt have a clue as to what Celiacs was and Gluten. His nurse called me to let me know that my labs where a little elevated and said if you are glutne intolerant then what are you suppose to eat, I said hardley anything and we both laughed. The office that I go to is pretty nice and they try.

It is wonderful when you have a good experience with your doctor. Glad it went well.

Kat-

I bet you walked out of that appointment on cloud 9. I am glad to see you were finally able to get the answer you want too. Good Luck.

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
