I'm trying to find a celiac-friendly doctor in the Tampa/St Pete area. I live in Palm Harbor (just north of Clearwater and west of Tampa). Anyone have personal experience? Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi, do you need just a general doctor or a gastrology doctor? I've been up there to see a doctor for just a celiac check-up-type-thing before, If that is was you need I could get his name.

I'd prefer a GI specialist, but if you've had good luck with a general practitioner that would be great too. I just haven't had any luck in the past with GP's actually listening to my symptoms.

I have a GP and GI Dr in Seminole....GP is Dr. Babu Paladugu- he was the one to diagnose me....The GI I go to is Dr. Badani. Good luck!

      I was instructed to take Algaecal as alternative to bisphosphonate drugs for osteoporosis. I did for 2 years, 1200 mg a day. My cholesterol spiked above normal during this time. We watched it and finally determined best to get a test to see if calcium was causing the spike. I have never had high cholesterol before. Could the celiac non absorption have caused calcium to build in my arteries? Now put on a statin to lower cholesterol (began at 180 went to 240 while on Alcagal). thanks
