I got some bath and body works body cream for my birthday. Amazingly enough it doesn't have oats in it, but it does contain hops. Is that safe??? I know they'll label any gluten clearly, but I just wanted to make sure it was safe before using it. Its my very favorite scent and I'm dying to open it up!

Hops: Hops are the cone-shaped flower taken from the hop vine. They add bitterness, aroma, and flavor to beer, depending on the variety of hop and how it is used.
I just found this in a beer website, so I am going to say that hops is not wheat. None of my Bath & Body Works Lotions contain wheat or oats. I use sweet pea, white tea and ginger, honey, magnolia blossom--I always read them first, yet never have any problems with these.

I have been using the rice and shea butter body wash. I did notice that a lot of the hand creams contain barley, but they seem to be clearly marked.

      Thoughts? Non-endoscopic Celiac diagnosis in two year old

      Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong. yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.

      @GlorietaKaro, your respiratory reactions to gluten make me wonder if there might also be an allergic (anaphylaxis) component at work here.

In the meantime, I will carry on has I have been— it’s working! Thanks also for the validation— sometimes I just feel crushed by disbelief. Not enough to make me eat gluten though—
