Does anyone know whether cheese is gluten free? She is fine with dairy products and eats gluten free yoghurt I would like to try her with a piece of cheese.

With the exception of some blue cheeses, cheese is gluten free. If in doubt, Kraft will clearly list gluten.

If you are newly diagnosed, you might hold off on the dairy for a while. I thought my daughter was reacting wonderfully to the gluten free diet, until i made her casein free as well, WOW what an even bigger improvement! Good luck!

Its not just Bleu cheese, its any soft cheese. Bleu Cheese is just the most popular. Because Cheese making is an art, and the processes are kept secret, they do not have to list if they use bread to make the cultures for the soft cheese... so none of them can be considered safe... Richly veined cheeses like Maytag blue and Stilton are off limits as well. Thats what I found in the Gluten Free Bible and other gluten-free books I can't rememeber right now!

Now, some of the blue cheeses are made with a synthetic starter, as opposed to wheat starters. I would suggest calling the company. There are many brands of blue cheeses' that are gluten free. I doubt that you daughter is a fan of blue cheese, though.

Most cheeses, soft or hard are gluten free. Kraft is a company that will list all ingredients and a great company to trust. Simply read their label.

Absolutely my point with Kerrigan, the owner. She stood to secure many years of faithful patronage by simply inviting us in for a pastry or lunch. Or by simply producing another $50 e-card based on trust. We would have been highly satisfied. We are limited to a few restaurants in the area, and that would have been one. It was very disappointing, esp to my wife, to realize we can't patronize the place anymore.

You would think any business would see the wisdom of honoring a $50 gift certificate on the basis of customer satisfaction alone, apart from any questions about software glitches.

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.
