Gluten Free In Ft. Lauderdale

DW and I are heading out on our winter getaway, and have 2 days in Ft. Lauderdale before we head out to sea. We are staying on Seabreeze Blvd and I am wondering if anyone here can tell me if there are any good places to eat near by. I know there is a PF Changs a short way away, but am wondering about other places in the area.

We will not have a car, so will be relying on taxis/water taxi/bus to get around. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, can't help with your question so I hope you'll forgive my posting but please post a review when you get back. I love to cruise but haven't gone since going gluten free. I love to read about others experiences so I can make a good cruise line choice when I venture out on the high seas. What cruise line are you going on?

Thanks!

Michelle

Holland America. This will be our second cruise with them since I went Gluten Free. They are more than understanding and the staff were very helpful. I was brought the dinner menu at least 24 hours in advance so I could make my selections for the following evening. If we ate at the other cafes etc, we just told them, and my bread/noodles were brought up to that table rather than to the main dinning room.

I did not get sick once. All gluten-free meals were available in the main dinning room, and they had gluten-free bread on the breakfast buffet and sandwich bar so I could go there at lunch as well. I only had to fill out a request form ahead of time. The allow me to choose enough bread/pasta/brownies/etc for the duration of the cruise and they had more than enough. There is a small charge if you go over the allowed numbers, but it is minimal.

If you want to know more, feel free to PM me and I will be happy to chat with you.

My family lives just north of Fort Lauderdale in Pompano Beach. When we go there, we have eaten successfully at Pizza Fusion and Smokey Bones. They are both on Federal Highway and would require a taxi ride, though. I'll see if I can find anything out about what's near you.

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
