Gluten-free Pantry French Bread Mix

I have a package of Gluten-Free Pantry French Bread Mix and I would like to make sour dough French bread with it. I have found many recipes for the starter mix, so I am guessing all I have to do is add some to the package ingredients?

Has anyone ever tried this? Which starter mix recipe did you use? How much sour dough mix did you add? Any other adjustments?

Do I really need a bread machine? Right now I don't even have a mixer as the last time I tried to make bread burned out the motor on the mixer I had. :(

"Long ago and far away" my favorite sandwich was tuna on sour dough with cheese and dill pickle. I also miss a simple peanut butter sandwich on sour dough.

I made the sourdough friendship bread years ago (gluten type) so I wondered a while back if you could do it gluten-free and I found this:

interesting reading anyway

This is the one I thought I had saved...it sounds good.

More like a sweet bread but maybe you could tweak it.

I just googled "sourdough starter" and found more recipes and tips.

I did that too - and was a bit overwhelmed at the number of variations. My experiments tend to turn out badly (which is one reason why I have the mix!) so I was hoping to capitalize on someone else's experience here!

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
