Syptoms Noticed Right At The End Of A Meal?

well, has anyone ever gotten sick, right at the end of a meal from maybe accidently being glutened? I was at the end of my meal, very bad stomach cramps, had to run to the restroom. Is that even possible? I really need to learn how to check labels, for the hidden glutens I think...

Growing up (before knowing about celiac/gluten intolerance) I would have to go to the restroom right after dinner... I would get realllllly bad stomach pains where I would be curled up on my bed in pain with constant bathroom runs for a couple of hours.

After going gluten free I was still getting sick but only with certain foods. I found that I had another intolerance -- Tapioca Flour/Starch (was about the same if not worse then being glutened). There are certain things off and on that are definately gluten free but have spices in it that I am maybe iffy with or too much dairy for me to handle.

Maybe try keeping a food journal for a little while at least and you might be able to figure out what food is bothering you. Hope you figure it out.

Oh....A nice warm bath or a bath with epsom salt use to help me when I wasn't feeling well. Or a heating pad. Drink lots of water.

Yep, you pretty much just summed up celiac disease. That's extremely common. Gluten 101 is wheat, rye, barley, and oats. Also anything malted (distilling can counteract that) and a lot of flour types contain wheat. Potato, rice, konjac, and some other kinds of flour are okay. Most soy sauce contains wheat. And having your gluten free touch food with gluten in any way could make you sick. You'll learn all this when you start researching. Good luck!

I'd also recommend a food diary. Many people have delayed reactions so even though you got sick during a meal it could've been from something you ate earlier in the day or the day before. For me it's right at 24 hours and I always eat at the same time so it a food diary to figure out that it wasn't what I'd just eaten that made me sick.
