Itchy

I have no idea if this is gluten related and I don't see how it could be but who knows. If I get any its pure accident/cc'd kind of thing. Regardless I can't deal with this, its driving me crazy...

I get an "itch" on my neck then my nose then my back then my arm then my tummy then my head then my leg and so on. Its a tingle and sometimes it just a tickle, it isn't for the most party itchy like a bug bite. Sometimes it is an all out itch and sometimes its from my hair or my shirt touching me.

Once it starts it keeps going. Its been going on for the last hour but I am going to try and go to sleep and I probably will be able to. It might come back in the morning or not until noon etc..

Does anyone have any idea what causes this and how to stop it?

TIA

I have the itchy problem also. 3 years ago I had an overall rash before glutten free, Now I mainly get it in my ears and right under my hairline on the back of my neck. I did eat an organic dark chocolate bar (Hershey) - maybe that was it.

I have noticed stress, dairy and sweets seem to trigger this. The itchy ears is the most miserable part. It seems to be worse at bedtime.

I am an itchy person too. Last winter I had started to eat wheat again some before I went totally gluten free. I itched constantly. It was horrible. But after going off gluten I am soooo much better. I do also itch if I eat too much sugar. I noticed that a long time ago. With sugar it would be on the inside of my thighs, But with gluten it would be my buttocks, lower back, sides, and armpits. My breasts and neck sometimes too.

EXACTLY what I was looking for to describe it, the traveling itchies! No rash either.

I realized today that I had been glutened somehow over the last day or so. The traveling itchies must have been a reaction. Now I just have to figure out where it came from (sometimes I think that is impossible and just move on to the next day!).

If I eat wheat in certain forms I get itchy rashes, like eczema.

I've also noticed that if I don't take a shower each night before bed,

it's like my skin gets itchy & tingly, not sure why. I could have very

well taken a shower that morning, but if I don't take one at night

I normally get this. Drives me nuts. Not sure if its my skin needing

to cool off, or what.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
