Nichelob - I wonder if they've changed some of their products. I thought their light butter sticks contain gluten. I'll have to check it out. I do like their recipes on their website!

I've been buying Land of Lakes for years. I don't know if I've ever heard of gluten in any butter before.

I looked it up and according to the Wegman's ingredients list for the light sticks it does not have gluten. But, in my buying guide (Cecelia's Marketplace 2008) it says it has gluten. Maybe it changed?

Ingredients:

Butter (Cream, Salt), Water (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter), Contains Less than 2% of food starch modified (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter), Tapioca Maltodextrin (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter), Salt, Vegetable Mono and Diglycerides (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter), Lactic Acid (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter), Potassium Sorbate (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter) and Sodium Benzoate (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter) (Preservatives), Xanthan Gum (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter), Natural Flavor (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter), Vitamin A Palmitate (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter), Beta Carotene (Ingredients Not Found in Regular Butter) (Color).

Warnings:

Contains: Milk.

I am so new to this also, but I look for the least ingredients and go from there. Like just butterfat and salt, etc. You get the idea.

Before Christmas, seeing all of those modified ingredients never daunted me....NOW!!! It's as if I slam on the breaks when I see all of that stuff!

Good Luck!

The least ingredients is what I look for as well. That's why I buy Butter (real butter), not margerine or sweet cream. Just makes like a little bit simplier.

Thanks for the list too makes me realise why I still get symptoms after cutting gluten , all that reading has just made sense to why I'm still struggling , thankyou Scott Adams very insightful , I've been baking to and there is xanthum gum in the flour , I understand now why I still have issues with that too, and ive had to cut dairy also , i had a terrible flare few months ago and my throat also was very irritable and I had sinuses issues all makes sence 👍
