I tried out one of the recipes for gluten free play dough in the book "Incredible Edible Gluten-Free Food for Kids: 150 Family-Tested Recipes" but found that it took a lot of the ingredients and made a lot of mess to make a small batch. And, it never quite became unsticky. There are also recipes in "Kids with Celiac Disease : A Family Guide to Raising Happy, Healthy, Gluten-Free Children"

by Danna Korn. Both are great books, but I ended up buying gluten free play dough online at Open Original Shared Link

It seems expensive, but you get a lot and don't have to go through the mess and time of making it yourself. I send the bucket with my daughter to her playgroup and all the kids use it.

I also bought the gluten-free playdough from Discount School Supply...it's GREAT!!!

I make a gluten-free play dough for my daughter to play with and I provide enough for her pre-k class as well. I had thought about selling it, but so far I haven't figured out how to go about doing that.

I'm not interested in making a profit on it, just wanting to provide a ready made dough for busy families that may not have time to make it themselves. Since I am thinking about selling this, and my formula is proprietary, I can't just post it here, but if you are interested you can e-mail me at nisla@comcast.net

I just received my order of Gluten Free Play Dough from Discount School Supply. My order was shipped quickly and the product is very nice. It is a large amount of Dough, so I put half of it away in zip lock bags and then in another sealed container. There is probably enough play dough in one order to share with a small preschool room. I would definitely recommend this product.

I am new to the gluten-free diet and this topic is completely new to me! Is it absolutely necessary for Celiac children to not use regular Playdoh?? I had no idea and would be interested to know so I can get some gluten-free Playdoh right away.

You should get gluten free playdough. Kids play with it and they put their hands on their face and mouth and it's easy to get some gluten into their mouth.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.

Your post demonstrates the profound frustration and isolation that so many in the Celiac community feel, and I want to thank you for channeling that experience into advocacy. The medical gaslighting you endured for decades is an unacceptable and, sadly, a common story, and the fact that you now have to "school" your own GI specialist speaks volumes about the critical lack of consistent and updated education. Your idea to make Celiac Disease a reportable condition to public health authorities is a compelling and strategic one. This single action would force the system to formally acknowledge the prevalence and seriousness of the disease, creating a concrete dataset that could drive better research funding, shape medical school curricula, and validate the patient experience in a way that individual stories alone often cannot. It is an uphill battle, but contacting representatives, as you have done with Adam Gray, is exactly how change begins. By framing it as a public health necessity—a matter of patient safety and protection from misdiagnosis and neglect—you are building a powerful case. Your voice and your perseverance, forged through thirty years of struggle, are exactly what this community needs to ensure that no one else has to fight so hard just to be believed and properly cared for.

I had no idea there is a "Louisville" in Colorado!😉 I thought it was a typo because I always think of the Kentucky city--but good luck!
