Hi Every one

Is it only me or does everybody with Celiac have a problem with there hands and feet having a tingleing feeling or them constantly asleep. I have been on a gluten free diet since first of Jan. but this hasn't gone away. It's very aggervating. Am i doing something wrong with my food or is this one of the lovely side effects. please let me know, that I'm not going nuts tooo.

Hi! You are not alone with your suffering. Before my diagnosis I had a lot of trouble with my feet, both arms and hands falling asleep. Made work almost impossible, as I worked on my feet, up and down steps and I couldn't feel the steps! Would wake in the night with absolutely no feeling from the shoulders down. It was alarming to say the least. Anyway, since I started the diet (nov. o7) these problems slowly went away. If there is any nerve damage...it will heal but it does take time. It does not necessarily mean that you are still getting gluten...it just means that you are still healing. Some take longer than others to heal damage done by Celiac...but with vigilence it does happen. Be patient and good luck :)

As was stated, it can take time. However, there are some supplements you can take which can help quite a lot. Deficiencies in both vitamin B12 and magnesium are common for those with Celiac Disease. A sublingual methylcobalamin (active form of B12), and one of the various forms of magnesium are what I'd recommend. These two have helped me tremendously. Some other deficiencies which are common include B-complex, calcium, potassium, omega-3s, iron, and zinc.

Additionally, nightshade foods can inhibit nerve function, if too much of the toxic alkaloids get into the bloodstream. This can happen due to the damage to the intestinal wall. Just something to keep that in mind in case the supplementation alone doesn't resolve the problem.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
