Phosphorus Too High

I got home from work yesterday and had a message to call my doctor's office. I called today and found out they want another blood test because my last one showed that my phosphorus was high. The nurse did say it could be a lab error also. Just wondered if anyone had heard of that before.

Did a quick search, and found references to something called Hyperphosphatemia:

Interestingly, it appears that magnesium deficiency can be a cause, which makes sense considering how Celiac tends to cause deficiencies in various things, magnesium being one of the more common ones.

Let us know what you find out!

Thanks for your reply RiceGuy. The more I am reading about this the more worried I am getting. I hope I can go tomorrow for them to draw the blood. I think what surprises me the most is that I had this bloodwork done over a month ago. I can't believe they waited that long to call me. It isn't the normal thing for my doctor's office. I will ask why so long tomorrow. I will keep you posted as I find out myself.

Thanks again,

Wendy

I did manage to get my blood drawn today. I am worried about what the outcome could be after checking out the website.

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
