Is It Possible To Get A Reaction By Breathing Wheat?

Pretty much what the title describes. I moved next to a wheat field last year. I suffer from Dermatitis herpetiformis, and while I haven't seen bumps in a while I still wonder if I can get a reaction from this. I have recently (since the move) been diagnosed with Chronic Prostatitis as well (at age 20) which anecdotal evidence suggests can be intensified by a gluten sensitivity reaction. So really I'm wondering if this could be the answer to my problems. The prostatitis is far more annoying than the Celiac/DH ever proved to be.

Thoughts?

Is it possible to stay somewhere else (with family, say) for two weeks or so and see if you feel any better? I can't say definitively, but it makes sense that living next to a wheat field could lead to accidental ingestion. All I'm finding in Googleland is that oats can be cross-contaminated due to growing in the same field as or in an adjacent field to wheat, which would tend to make one think a person could be contaminated, too. Have you asked your doctor(s)?

I rarely visit the doctor as he tends to be clueless on my condition and I never really get a chance to talk to him. It took a few different specialists before I was properly diagnosed.

Once I get my paycheck I'm going to ask him to run a few tests (if possible). I haven't officially had a biopsy done of the (small?) intestine to check for Celiac, but I got my DH biopsied. They think it's likely that I have it but it would be nice to make sure. I'm following a strict gluten-free diet, so if the biopsy/endoscopy shows celiac-like features, it might mean the wheat field is affecting me.

No relative's house to stay at though.

Here is a link that could lead to an article on inhaled gluten. Maybe it will help you.

I eat a lot of dairy but its intermittent is this burning so I would assume it would happen all the time. Plus I have been tested for lactose intolerance  etc and I am fine and the other symptoms of that I don't get. As a aside  my dad died last month after a long illness so I wonder if the stress of that might be a influence as a bodily reaction to stress.

You should be fine.  You may start feeling better within a few days.  Someone who is very low in thiamine may notice improvement within hours.   Did you get the NeuroMag  or another magnesium supplement?

Yes Bobs redmill cgf oatmeal I started when I became gluten-free. So taking all 3 with breakfast should work? Will I notice any reactions getting used to these or should I be fine. Thanks

Hello, @pilber309, welcome to the forum! Are you currently consuming dairy?   You mentioned something about lots of yogurt and cheese, but did you cut it out or are you eating lots of it?   Could you clarify please? Some people with Celiac react to casein, the protein in dairy the same as to gluten with antibodies and villi damage.
