Got New Teeth What Denture Products Are Safe?

Celiac did a number on my teeth, like many of us have happen and I had to have most of my upper teeth pulled a couple weeks ago and now have a temporary partial plate that of course since I am still healing is getting looser and looser. I still have almost 2 months to go before my dentist will make the final plate and need something to keep these temps from slipping that is safe to use. Anyone have any for sure gluten free adhesives that they use and can reccommend? It is so nice not to be in pain constantly anymore but when I smile my teeth slip which is almost as embarrassing as the mess that was in there before the work was done. :o

Thanks so much. The product is even good for folks with dry mouth which is great news as that is one thing that didn't resolve gluten-free. My docs always blamed the dry mouth on all the meds I was on but I have suspected for a long time that it was likely Sjogerns but don't want to bother having them test for it at this point. My dentist said that the dry mouth also contributed to the destruction of my teeth so it was nice to see some other products there specifically for it.

I have SO many teeth problems (many are missing from literally just crumbling out) and many have decay and cavities. I fear dentures. I have a horrible dentist phobia (well I have severe anxiety disorder, so I think it's really the problem). I'm on 31 :( (and no I've never been a drug user as two dentist assumed in my past :( ) I'm glad you were brave enough to fix your teeth problems! :)

I have had a dental phobia for years. What finally got me able to even call another one was a bit of therapy and an antianxiety med. It isnt easy but bad teeth can lead to bad issues elsewhere. Since I had one front tooth that was abcessed and I know that can spread to the brain I decided I just had to go. You might want to check into sedation dentistry if it is available in your area. Basically you go to sleep and you wake up and work is done.

I have to giggle at this subject - only how you talk about it...........lol

I've had dentures since I was 25 - same reason as you.

The best thing I EVER did for myself.

It took 2 visits.......upper first then the lowers

My gums healed and about a month or so later, I got my new smile.

Keep your lips stretched........or you'll walk around with all teeth and no lip as it will relax from not being stretched over teeth.

Use an emery board to smooth out an uncomfortable spot......tight - lump - pressure.......etc.

Do not assume you can eat a steak! lol

You need to learn how to chew with a mouth full of plastic.....and you will bite your cheek and tongue because your new teeth will not feel.

I highly recommend Fixodent! I am not fond of the type with scope in it - but do prefer the plain.

Less is more......More is a mess.

Your bond will be the best bond you've ever had - the other ones don't work nearly as well.

You'll try to yank your teeth out and they won't come out.........until the seal is worn out.

I even wrote the company and they wanted to my doctor to inquire....don't understand that one, but hey, I don't get a reaction.......and I only use the plain.

I also had to have my upper teeth pulled, the lower one's are holding steady for some reason and I still have them. I had to be put out when I had mine pulled also. One for the fear of the dentist the other because my head shake's and they can not work on me when I cant hold still. But I do not use any thing to hold my teeth in. But the thing that drives me nuts the most about them is getting food under them. But I eat almost every thing I want even corn on the cob. Also I use Equate denture cleaner on them. But I dont use it every day, but I do put them in mouth wash and water every night.

I take both Benfotiamine and TTFD.   You might want to start with the Benfotiamine for a few days and then add in the TTFD.   You can look for NeuroMag (Magnesium Threonate).  A magnesium glycinate is fine, too.  Doctor's Best is a good brand.  Don't take more than 300mg total per day of magnesium or it may have a laxative effect.   Be sure to take the B Complex.  The Benfotiamine and TTFD will need the other B vitamins.

Life Extension Benfotiamine with Thiamine has 100MG of Ben and 25 of Thia..... Do you think this is the one I should take or Objective Nutrients Thiamax (TTFD) which has 100MG Thiamine. How much magnesium should I look for? I take the womens 50+ multivitamin since consumerlabs stated and tested that it has the right amount of vitamins and not too much for men and doesn't have BHT which has shown to cause liver cancer in animals. I was never big with multivitamins as well as doctors I just read when I was first going gluten free to take a multi but I think I will stop them and work on trying the super B Thia and Ben, Mag.

Hi all I’ve been celiac for 4 years now, I’ve done pretty well to avoid it thus far. Last night I took the wrong pizza out of the freezer and ate the whole lot!! The non gluten and gluten pizza boxes are both very similar.   2 hours later I was throwing up violently on my hands and knees over the loo.  .horrendous stomach pains,  My hair was wet from sweat every part of my body was wet. What an awful experience, just had a bad headache today  fortunately.    Is their any products/pills anyone takes if they have realised they have just been glutened to make the symptoms a little less worse.  thanks

Yes, do take your B Complex with Benfotiamine or Thiamax.  Thiamine interacts with each of the other B vitamins in the B Complex to make energy and enzymes, so best to take them together earlier in your day.  Taking them too close to bedtime can keep you too energetic to go to sleep.   The Life Extension Benfotiamine with Thiamine is Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride, another form of thiamine the body likes.  The Thiamine HCl just helps the Benfotiamine work better.   Read the label for how many milligrams are in them.  The Mega Benfotiamine is 250 mgs.  Another Benfothiamine has 100 mgs.  You might want to start with the 100 mg.    I like to take Thiamax in the morning with a B Complex at breakfast.  I take the Benfotiamine with another meal.  You can take your multivitamin with Benfotiamine at lunch.   Add a magnesium supplement, too.  Thiamine needs magnesium to make some important enzymes.  Life Extension makes Neuro-Mag, Magnesium Threonate, which is really beneficial.  (Don't take Magnesium Oxide.  It's not absorbed well, instead it pulls water into the digestive tract and is used to relieve constipation.)  I'm not a big fan of multivitamins because they don't always dissolve well in our intestines, and give people a false sense of security.  (There's videos on how to test how well your multivitamin dissolves.).  Multivitamins don't prevent deficiencies and aren't strong enough to correct deficiencies.   I'm happy you are trying Thiamax and Benfotiamine!  Keep us posted on your progress!  I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

I looked further into Thiamax Vitamin B1 by objective nutrients and read all the great reviews. I think I will give this a try. I noticed only possible side affect is possibly the first week so body adjusts. Life Extensions carries Benfotiamine with Thiamine and the mega one you mentioned. Not sure if both in one is better or seperate. some reviews state a laxative affect as side affect. SHould I take with my super B complex or just these 2 and multivitamin? I will do further research but I appreciate the wonderful explanation you provided on Thiamine.
