Celiac Carlsbad

Hello,

I am going to be traveling to Carlsbad for several months on a work transfer (all the way from Edinburgh) and I was just wondering where/what shops are in the area that sell gluten free food?

I don't know where I will actually be staying yet but I don't have a car (or know how to drive) so as many as possible would be nice so I can figure out if they are close to where ever I end up.

Oh.. though I do know I'll be working just North of the McClellan Palomar airport. So any place near there would be handy.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Conor

Try Open Original Shared Link. It's been a while so I don't remember exactly where it is but I know there's one there.

Cheers for the information :D

Just wondering are there any places that delivery gluten free food?

I am going to be in work late most nights (like 6 days a week..) and they are willing to order food for me but don't know of any places that do gluten free delivery.

Ordering food in can be more difficult -- I've found very few restaurants that make me comfortable that I am actually receiving gluten-free food -- we generally prepare our food ourselves and are dining out less frequently than pre-Celiac.

Here is a link to Gluten Free in San Diego -- it may be a good place for you to search for more info:

Wow, great suggestions. I'm so thankful for this thread. I am having my endoscopy/ starting the gluten-free diet on thursday. I'm away at college but will be coming back to San Diego for part of Christmas break and this was helpful. I have been planning on going shopping at Jimbo's in 4S Ranch-IF taking the "back" roads its like 20 minutes away. I love Jimbos and remember there being lots of gluten-free options there- although never though I would have to ever buy them.

Anyway Good luck and eat well : )

Thanks rmj when I first rang up it was we can't do it without , but I talked to a lovely lady and she sorted it all out for me, so it pays to be persistent , I would have had to decline if I hadn't been given the water option too , so yes I'm glad too 😌

I’m so glad they listened to your concerns!  I hope you get some answers from the MRI.

Had my MRI today I didn't have to have the manitol with my allergy's , I just had a litre of water , they were great with my concerns , so let's see if anything comes of if will keep posted once I have results 👍

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.
