Dentist Anywhere Near Vancouver Bc?

I really should have posted this awhile ago because I realized I had a cavity a couple of months back and began calling around for dentists. Everyone says they can't GUARANTEE their products are gluten free, but I'll "probably" be fine. The last girl I talked to kept telling me, "You don't actually swallow anything, so you can use our products even if they aren't gluten free." Arrg! I told her if I swallowed even a tiny bit I'd be really sick, but she acted like I was being crazy and just kept repeating herself.

Anyway, does anyone know of a dentist in the Lower Mainland or even on Vancouver Island that can guarantee their products are gluten free? I am super sensitive and also react quite badly to minute amounts of gluten.

That would be best, but I'd also be happy if anyone had a dentist whom they visited and DIDN'T have a reaction afterward in Vancouver BC.

Thank you so much!

You may be worrying about nothing. I am extremely sensitive. I don't eat processed foods and I wash everything. Still, I don't have problems with the dentist.

I used to go to Dr. Brutton in Vancouver. He is near the UBC gates on 10th Ave. (unless he has retired.)

After posting that I got my teeth cleaned and think I got glutened. I don't know what it could have been. I haven't been glutened by them efore and they said that nothing has changed. I hope you get through it O.K.

Hello,

I know what it is like to have a dreadful time at the dentist and then they being indifferent to ur concerns. I also have problems with the anesthetic that I went to a specialist for them to say what I needed. I also stopped going to that dentist. When I just went through and going through the terrible now I cancelled my denstist's visit, I have a couple of fillings that I need but they are not hurting right now, so they are being left. Its more important to get this throat thing sorted out.

U could ring up the Celiac society to ask them, or even the dental assoication and ask them.

My adverse reaction at the dentist can also lower my blood pressure, aggravate my other disabilities and then the anesthetic could even make my feet and legs numb and I feel like I am about to die along with the fear and stress of dealing with the dentist and all the sensory problems I have to put up with. I recently have thought about laser dentristy, by someone that could do this, because they also deal with laser treatments for allergies. It is important to have someone allergy aware who also cares and if they are not, if they are willing to be and to learn. Even if u don't swallow something with gluten in it, its still in ur mouth, its still going to go through ur body and even if u smelt something it can cause problems well it does for me anyway, so u need someone who cares and is not being indifferent. After all its u that is going to have to deal with the possible reaction in the end. So r u prepared to take the risk is more than likely the question if u use this dentist.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.

It's not uncommon to experience some bleeding with hemorrhoids but I doubt enough to materially effect your iron levels. About your constipation. Are you getting enough fiber in your diet? 25-30 grams per day is the adult recommendation. Eggs and chicken have zero fiber. One medium apple or one average banana will have about 3 g. of fiber. A serving of oatmeal will have 3-4 g. Just to give you an idea. It's harder than you think to get 25-30 g of fiber. You have to plan for it and work at it. Getting plenty of hydration is important as well.

Someone said this could be due to my hemorrhoids. On March 17, 2024 my ferritin level was 23.
