Candida Diet

I tested that I having a mild candida growth. I know I am suppose to be off all sweeteners and yeast. I am taking garlic every day to fight this.

I have been researching candida and have read that I shouldn't have starches, dairy or fruits. My doctor didn't say anything about eliminating or limiting these foods. I feel I really need them. For dairy, I mostly rely on butter for the flavor and calories. I also need the fruits and non-gluten grains and starchy vegetables for calories. I realize beans provide calories but I get extreme gas from them.

Since I only have a mild candida growth, am I doing enough to kill it? I was hoping to bring sweeteners back to my diet for variety and calories. It has been so long since I've had chocolate and it would be such a nice treat.

Hi - just recently joined the forum and came across your entry. Don't know if you still have the problem but probiotics are actually the best defense I know of against Candida. You should get a strong one, which is refrigerated, and unfortunately, can be a little pricey. A lot of health food stores like Whole Foods have their own brands which are a lot cheaper. If you get one of the combos - acidophillus and bifidus, it is even better. Also, eating yogurt daily helps as well as olive oil - it is a natural "antibiotic" so to speak. You can add it to salads or things like that. This can usually help fight off the Candida without having to further lose important calories and cravings (!) we all need.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
