Spaghetti Factory Review

My little guy wanted Spaghetti Factory for his birthday dinner. I knew they had a gluten-free menu but I was skeptical as I have tried gluten-free pasta at home and just about threw up. I ordered the half meat sauce, half mizthra cheese. It was delicious and I ate the entire bowl of pasta - the texture was great and had no indication it was gluten-free. The pasta was by DeBoles. Even the pesto salad dressing was gluten-free. First meal I have had in over a month I left full and satisfied! :D

That is great! Glad you liked it!

I wanted to mention there are ALOT of good gluten free pasta options. The trick with gluten-free pasta is to NOT OVER COOK= A mushy mess with slimy taste. Make sure you follow the directions to a T or even back down the time a minute or two. My favorite brand is Tinkyada for lasagna, spaghetti, penne etc!! But Quinoa pasta is the firmest, great for casseroles or pasta salads. Also very good is rice noodles or potato pasta! You can enjoy great pasta with no gluten-free taste at home!!

I've tried it too and loved it. They used a corn-based pasta, which is why it's so light.

We LOVE the DeBoles in the green box - Gluten Free Multi Grain (Brown Rice/Quinoa/Amaranth). There is NOTHING bad about that! I don't really like the rice ones, particularly the Great Value brand. It always turns out gummy for me. We like the green ones so much that I'm having a family member bring me back a dozen boxes from CA ($2.79/box at Henry's - anyone know where to order on line close to that price?). Where I live, we don't have as many choices of places to find that. Whole Foods is it and whole paycheck is more like it. :(

That is wonderful! My family likes to go out to dinner to celebrate birthdays as well and it has been challenging to figure out safe AND kid friendly places for my son to eat. If you don't mind me asking which Spaghetti Factory did you go to?

They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

@JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
