Enjoying How I Feel For A Change

I've posted plenty of pity party posts, and frustated rants, so i thought I would change it up; After being very strict now for @ 6 months gluten/casien/CC free

I'm really noticing how much better I'm feeling after eating.

I'm beginning to realize that I never really enjoyed eating before because It never felt good my whole life. I remember panicking as a kid around food and eating. I always ate too fast and really approched eating as something to just get through always having to brace myself for feeling rotten. I always explained this away to myself because I worked as a chef ,(and sadly baker for 4 years), and just attributed it to 'burnout'. working in a fine dining resturant I would work 14 hour days, and never get to take a break for a minute. You had to taste every single thing you put on a plate for seasonong, so it was literally spitting food into the garbage half way through the service, and never having an actual meal. I just figured that this dysfunctional experience had kind of ruined my relationship with food for life, and I hated cooking for myself at home, so I ate out every day. I had no idea that gluten could be doing this to me.

I hope feeling this way now is a sign that my gut is healing up.

the Dermititis Herpetiformis on my scalp is definately improving slowly, it used to be SO much more painful and erupting. My mood has improved at least by 50% I'd say, the achiness, and the tingling is much less than it was, and the signs of ataxia have almost disappeared altogether. today it occured to me after having lunch, (a big organic salad with half a chicken breast with an avocado, an apple, and lemon juice and XVOO), and just feeling great and energized, and not like my gut is constricting, gurgling and 'talking back'.wow. its really like night and day compared to my tummy of 6 months ago!

I really only got obvious GI symptoms(D, gut pain) over the last few years, although I've had the DH (not Dear Husband lol) and mood problems much longer. I geuss it goes to show that I DID have GI symptoms, but just thought feeling that way was 'normal'.

In comparison, the way I feel after eating now is just amazing to me, I love it, and it makes me feel like I'm really enjoying this lifestyle, even though it can be challenging, and all the precautions you need to constantly take can wear on you. i'm not feeling so much like "poor me, i'll never have a normal life" ( like i ever did anyways), instead i'm feeling very fortunate to have figured out whats going on with gluten and myself, and this board has helped immensely in this process. you are all really great, and i appreciate it even more having been steered wrong by everyone who I went to for help in the past.thanks so much everyone! it's like I have a new lease on life. i'm rather starting to feel sorry for those who are suffering unknowingly, even if they go through the day with more convienience than i do.

now i just hope my scalp can follow suit and heal up too, it gets pretty discouraging how slow going it is, especially after a recent glutening, but todays realization really has me looking up, yeah!

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
