I'm packing the family up and crossing the border tomorrow to pick up some Udis products and hit up the Wegmans.

I'm from Canada and we have a lot fewer gluten free products than you folks in the US.

Can anybody give me suggestions of some of your favourite gluten free products from Wegmans (or even other large chains) so I have an idea what to pick up? I'm sure I'm not even aware of half the products available in the States......

Thanks!

Boy are you in for a great time! I think you are going to be overwhelmed with how much stuff under their private label is gluten-free. Their Natures Marketplace will have some gluten free frozen items, what they have varies by store. The one where I usually shop doesn't have as much as one in a city 15 miles away from me so every once in a while I go there with iced coolers to get gluten free burritos, frozen mac and cheese and gluten-free frozen soups etc and some out of the world good, but expensive cheesecakes.

They carry a couple different breads that I like, Grainless Baker is my favorite for bread and hamburger and hotdog buns and they usually have chocolate and cinnamon Kinninickkinnick doughnuts and pizza shells. Kinnie pizza shells come 4 to a package so for me they are a good value over the premade gluten-free pizzas when I grab some Wegmans pizza sauce and cheese. I don't know if you have Hormel pepperoni there if you don't and you like pizza grab some of that also.

With the name brand food on the regular aisles my favorite to go for (other than regular meal prep stuff) is their pickles, not all are labeled gluten free as they have a distilled gluten grain sensitive person in the family so they don't label pickles or BBQ and such made with distilled gluten as safe. I really appretiate that.

In general if you are looking at a product that comes in different sizes and one has the circle G and another size doesn't there is a reason for that. I have seen that most often in the nuts aisle. So do look for the Circle G and go with that size.

The meat dept is really good also and if you see any item that you have doubts about they will call the company headquarters or check their list for you while you wait to check if it is safe. I did that last week with a meatloaf mix that had beef, pork and veal and 'natural flavors'.

I think your going to be pleased with the selection, price and quality and do bring a cooler or two or three for frozen and refrigerated stuff.

Don't forget to pick up some Lea & Perrin's Worcestershire Sauce. It's gluten free in the US, but not in Canada.

And stock up on Chex Cereal. Five varieties are gluten free in the US.

No Campbell's Soup, not safe here. You have more options in Canada.

Have a BIG time! :D

Here is a fun page from Chex:

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
