Hello All,

Might I have suggestions for an absolutely trusted hard candy sans gluten, soy and HFCS? Really appreciate any thoughts. I am a ridiculously sensitive one so I need ones that people like me have eaten routinely with success?

Thanks so much!

Happy Halloween!

lisa

There is a brand called Go Organic that seems to fit your needs. You can do a search online for it. I can't seem to find the manufacturers website but do see a lot of places that sell it.

I am not super sensitive but you might try Yummy Earth, I first heard about Yummy Earth through this blog post Open Original Shared Link. She has a video on the blog post about how they make the lollipops and some other information.

When I was at our local health food store, I saw some and thought I would try it (honestly not expecting them to be really good). Wow! I think I have a new favorite candy.

Anyway you might want to check them out too.

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
