24 Weeks Pregnant

I go officially to the GI doc tomorrow. I am fairly certain that I have some type of gluten intolerance problem. It just emerged about 2 months ago actually. I read somewhere that the stress of your pregnancy can cause celiac and other autoimmune disorders to express themselves. Has anyone else had this experience?

I just hope the doctor will actually test me for it.

If you have been gluten free, the tests will not do any good.

That said, if you're also pregnant and strongly suspect celiac, I couldn't advise eating gluten for testing, because of the potential risks.

I hope the doctor has some useful help for you, though.

do your parents or siblings have Celiac or any other Autoimmune Diseases???? to give us an idea?

i, personally, think that if u suspect u have issues with gluten- i would NOT eat ANY gluten for the rest of your pregnancy- and maybe even abstain while nursing. but make sure you eat really healthy NATURALLY gluten free foods, fresh fruits & veggies, lean meats, healthy oils and fats (no flax)... and dont eat gluten free substitutes all day.

i just dont think its worth the risk to continue eating it... u can always challenge and test after delivering later, if u need a diagnosis

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
