Gluten Free Bread Discontinued

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on a gluten free bread that is being discontinued. I was not able to get a loaf at my local grocery store. The brand is Nature's Own. Here is what they had to say.

"Dear Valued Nature's Own Friend

Over the lat several months, Nature's Own has been offering gluten free bread in a test market trial. thank you for giving this item a try. We are disappointed that this test did not meet our objectives. For that reason, we cannot continue to offer gluten free bread. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and encourage you to try other gluten free breads on the market."

Sincerely,

Nature's Own

I'm sorry to see this go. It back to Udi's for me.

Susan

Of all the different breads we have tried, Udi's is the only one we find edible.

I never even saw this bread in stores. It must have been released in only select test markets.

I believe it was released in the Atlanta area.

I wanted to try this bread and after asking the bread delivery people at different stores I finally found it at a Kroger near my sons Dr. office. If I remember correctly it was $7 or more per loaf. I could not see paying that much not even knowing if it tasted good or not. So we stuck with udi's. I was buying udi's at whole foods for $5.69 a loaf and thought I got a real deal when they had it on sale for $5 a loaf. I have since found it at a local publix supermarket for $4.69 a loaf. Seeing what some of you pay for it I believe this might be the best price around.

Absolutely my point with Kerrigan, the owner. She stood to secure many years of faithful patronage by simply inviting us in for a pastry or lunch. Or by simply producing another $50 e-card based on trust. We would have been highly satisfied. We are limited to a few restaurants in the area, and that would have been one. It was very disappointing, esp to my wife, to realize we can't patronize the place anymore.

You would think any business would see the wisdom of honoring a $50 gift certificate on the basis of customer satisfaction alone, apart from any questions about software glitches.

So there was no physical, plastic card involved, correct?

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.
