My daughter is having her scope/biopsy today. I am nervous, excited, all kinds of emotions. Wish us luck and answers please!

Good luck! But don't be nervous. The endoscopy is a cinch. The only bad part is the not eating. :)

The test will be harder on you than on her. When my DD had one it took a surprisingly short time and when she was in recovery waking up she kept asking when they were going to take her in. Hopefully the test will give accurate results but do keep in mind that false negatives are not uncommon especially with young children. You don't need to wait for the results to start her on a strict trial of the diet. Hope everything goes well and she is feeling better soon.

Well the test went well, my daughter is a superstar! I was hoping to come out with information that would help us move forward. Instead I am more confused. Eveything looked normal so now we wait (10 days) for the biopsy results. The dr did tell me though that maybe she was false positive, that blood test results in the 40-100 range aren't necessarily positive for celiac. She said maybe she doesnt have celiac or maybe it's that she is at increased risk of developing celiac. Grrrrrr. I was hoping for a clear answer. Maybe the biopsy will show something. We are probably going to try a gluten-free diet anyway and see if she improves. However it would be easier to stick with and implement at school with a diagnosis! Still confused and frustrated!

From all I have read in medical journals and articles there is no such thing as a 'false positive' only lots of false negatives on blood tests and biopsies. I hope they biopsied at least 6 different areas. The villi are not visible with the naked eye which is why they need the biopsies so the fact that everything 'looked' okay is not significant. The blood work being postive is though. You can start the diet now that the biopsy is done. If your child improves on the diet that combined with the positive blood work is enough for many doctors to give a diagnosis.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
