Natural Remedies?

So I was just wondering about something. I am currently being treated for a severe yeast infection of my gut. I am on 100mg of Diflucan once daily, and I'm about 2/3 of the way done with it. My anxiety was pretty high before I started the diflucan. I have experianced some pretty bad die-off and my anxiety levels that were better seem to have come back.n Definitely not as bad as before, but they are definitely there. My Doc recommended Ashwaganda to help with anxiety, but when I went to the natural food store the clerk (who seemed very knowledgable and nice) recommeneded I take GABA instead. She says it will relax you and has almost a "valium like effect". She said I could take it during the day and be fine. So I was wondering if anyone else took this and how it worked for them. I am very hesitant to take anything because Docs seems to just shove pills at you and make the problem worse. I really really dont want to have to go on an SSRI/SSNI. I was on those before when I had post patrum depression after my son was born and coming off of it even under doc supervision was awful. Just wondered what everyone thought. I am open to suggestion! :)

Is your diflucan gluten free? I didn't know if you might have a generic version that might not be gluten-free - most pharmacists won't even check on that, even if you have 'gluten free' in nice big letters on their computer. That might explain the anxiety, big-time.

I'd double check the GABA is gluten-free, too.

Also, did the doctor talk to you about what to eat after the treatment? Or a diet change AS treatment? If he didn't, you might want to look into resources for those with yeast overgrowth, etc... There seems to be a lot of information to help you out on what to eat, etc... that keep food away from the yeast, and help you in recovery, etc...

I believe some of it can be, simply, a severe diet restriction so that the yeast has nothing to eat and can't survive, but I'm not entirely sure about it. It may be more something to eat for a while after the medication to make sure yeast doesn't get another foothold while your bacteria is trying to recover lost ground.

Although I imagine there is some thoughts on that, too - making sure you don't get a bacterial infection now that the yeast is all killed off. Sigh - it's never easy, is it?

GABA works similar to alcohol. You can also look into magnesium. Valerian root is also very common, but look up research on liver damage with too high of doses.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
