Hi,

I am wondering if you can help me?? I just noticed that many of the shampoos, hair colors, mascara etc I am using have gluten in them. I was under the understanding you did not need to use gluten-free products that are not being ingested....I am however beginning to wonder if this in NOT true as being 100% gluten-free for a while now, I still have digestive and itchy skin issues....was I miss informed should my body products and make up be gluten-free??/ any help would be so appreciated...

Enjoy

Well, could it be similar to cross contamination? I think so. I know my daughter won't use items containing gluten. She does get symptoms: rash, itchiness, etc. But there could also be damage underway once it gets into your bloodstream, via skin. I would not take the chance. :)

There's a wonderful online site that sells gluten free shampoo and body products. It's called Body Sense and isn't too expensive. You just have to make sure you go to the gluten-free section.

I'll post their link below.

how do you know they have gluten? what are some of the ingredients you often find?

I can't seem to figure out what ingredients to look out for besides things that obviously say "wheat..." whatever...

I was taking medicine for sibo but it was not agreeing with my stomach at all.Was on gabapentin but it amps me up.I was taking in morning because it wasn't allowing me to sleep. This has always been an issue with medicine and me.Even going to dentist, the good shot that numbs you once, I can't take because it makes my heart beat fast and I  get the shakes.I have to take the crappy stuff and get injected always more than 4 times always. Its infuriating

I showed one doctor I went to once because completely clueless of celiac disease and yes that one was connected to a well known hospital and she said oh thats just a bunch of people that think they are celiac coming together. I said um no they have doctors and knowledge behind what is being written. So bay area is Downplaying this site! SADLY

If you successfully digest gluten with enzyme supplements so it won’t give you side effects, your challenge won’t be worthwhile because the digested fragments of gluten also won’t stimulate antibody production or cause intestinal damage.

You can search this site for prescriptions medications, but will need to know the manufacturer/maker if there is more than one, especially if you use a generic version of the medication: To see the ingredients you will need to click on the correct version of the medication and maker in the results, then scroll down to "Ingredients and Appearance" and click it, and then look at "Inactive Ingredients," as any gluten ingredients would likely appear there, rather than in the Active Ingredients area. https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/
