Blood Work Negative

I got my blood work back today and it came back that I do not have celiac disease. However, my doctor agreed with me that with a week without gluten and I'm feeling soooo much better (no more naseau and much less bloating - I look about 3 months pregnant instead of 5.... lol) I should keep doing the gluten-free diet. He said it can't hurt anything.

So, I heard the test isn't 100% reliable especially since I had cut way back on gluten before the test.

My doctor also said I'm still anemic and several other vitamins, etc are low, so he said that could also be caused by what seems to be my gluten-issues. (Okay, being told you're somewhat malnourished when you're really trying to lose weight and have excess weight to lose is a little bit of a mind game!)

So my plan for now is to continue to be gluten-free. If I don't get any better, maybe I'll continue to explore other options.

One thing I'm considering is going on a completely bland diet or even a liquid diet for a month or so. I did this once before and felt SO much better after just a liquid diet. I was weak at first but for a few months after, I felt AMAZING! (This was not for weight loss purposes, fyi. Though I did lose weight.)

Thanks for the advice. I've learned a lot from reading. Any thoughts, suggestions, or advice, please pass along. Thanks!

Whole foods only, meat, veggies, fruits, nuts, seeds. See how it goes

You don't have to be skinny to be malnourished.

Non-celiac gluten intolerance exists.

Keep out dairy and soy for now, too.

Gotta go. Good luck :) and keep asking questions.

So far 3 months in - worsening symptoms. I have had the worst constipation in my life and I am primarily eating naturally gluten-free foods like potatoes, eggs, salad with homemade dressing, corn tortillas, etc. I hate gluten-free bread and pasta so I don't eat it. Occasionally I eat gluten-free almond flour crackers. As stated in the post, I don't have any vitamin deficiency. I was already tested.

Talk to your  Talk to your provider about testing for vitamin and mineral deficiency.  celiac disease causes malabsorption and eventually malnutrition.  Especially vitamin D. Having the gallbladder removed seems to be a common step on the way to a Celiac Disease Diagnosis,  Gallbladder is a sympton of deficient Choline. Eggs and red meat are the primary source..Choline makes up a majority of the bile salts.  The bile gets thick, doesn't get enough into intestine to digest fats well.  Can eventually back up into gallbladder, cause gallstones.  Without bile, bowel movements can become hard. Try to avoid all processed foods while you are healing, The gluten-free foods are not fortified with vitamins and use various ingredients to mimic fat that bothers many Celiacs.  Choose vegatables with low omega 6.  Optimum omega 6 to omega 3 ratio is less than 3:1.  Wheat flour is 22:1.  Grass fed milk is 1:1.   Commercial Dairies milk is 5:1.  They feed wheat, rye and barley Gluten as part of the food mix.

Your DGP-G is also high. The thing to do now would be to trial the gluten-free diet for a few months to see if there is improvement in symptoms.

Welcome to the forum, @Roses8721! How long were you off gluten before getting the celiac blood testing done? The testing is not valid after having been gluten free for a significant period of time. Many of your symptoms align with celiac disease.
