I've been on the gluten free diet for a month and a half now and with it almost all of my symptoms have gone away. There have been a few times that I have had gluten in that month and a half. I have realized that having just a small amount of it will affect me for weeks. However, its been close to two weeks since I've had any gluten that I know of. I have been extremely careful, but my fatigue is coming back. The last few days I have been so fatigued all over again and I've started to get headaches again. Could this just be from eating that gluten over two weeks ago?

Have you considered other food intolerances? Dairy, soy, corn can be problematic for some people after going gluten-free, so can nightshade vegetables and legumes or fructose, as well as some of the alternate grains and to a lesser extent, egg yolk.

Have you tried keeping a food diary? Sometimes ingesting the other proteins can mimic a gluten reaction, but sometimes the reactions are different. There are quite a few really good posts on this topic on the forum.

Some people find that they cannot tolerate certain foods while they are healing, but can reintroduce them later with success. Good luck, wish you well.

I suffer from horrible fatigue due to iron defficient anemia have you had any vitamin or mineral levels checked?

I second the iron deficiency. Also b12. Have you gotten any vitamins & mineral levels checked?

      They may want to also eliminate other possible causes for your symptoms/issues and are doing additional tests.  Here is info about blood tests for celiac disease--if positive an endoscopy where biopsies of your intestinal villi are taken to confirm is the typical follow up.

      In the Europe the new protocol for making a celiac disease diagnosis in children is if their tTg-IgA (tissue transglutaminase IgA) levels are 10 times or above the positive level for celiac disease--and you are above that level. According to the latest research, if the blood test results are at certain high levels that range between 5-10 times the reference range for a positive celiac disease diagnosis, it may not be necessary to confirm the results using an endoscopy/biopsy: Blood Test Alone Can Diagnose Celiac Disease in Most Children and Adults TGA-IgA at or Above Five Times Normal Limit in Kids Indicates Celiac Disease in Nearly All Cases No More Biopsies to Diagnose Celiac Disease in Children! May I ask why you've had so many past tTg-IgA tests done, and many of them seem to have been done 3 times during short time intervals?

      @JettaGirl, "Coeliac" is the British spelling of "celiac". Same disease.

      This may sound ridiculous but is this supposed to say Celiacs? I looked up Coeliacs because you never know, there’s a lot of diseases related to a disease that they come up with similar names for. It’s probably meant to say Celiacs but I just wanted to confirm.

      I was told it was to see how much damage has been caused. But just told CT with contrast not any other name for it.
