Just wanted to tell you about a good experience we had the other night at Mt. Fuji, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. My daughter, (she's the one with celiac) liked this place a lot before diagnosis, so I wanted to try and take her now. I called restaurant in

the afternoon and asked if I could bring our own soy sauce. They said yes, so we went. It was a Sun. evening & not too crowded. I wouldn't do this when they're are too busy. They were a little confused about what we actually wanted when we got there (I also think it was the language differences). They thought we just wanted to put it on our food after it was cooked. We finally spoke to the head waiters ( 2 of them) and explained. They seated us at our own table. There were only 3 of us, but they have a smaller table I guess they use for private parties available. I told them that they had to cook all the food with our soy sauce (San J brand), and they had to cook the noodles last after my daughter had gotten all of her food. Once they understood, they were very nice and helpful. They explained this to the chef and everything went really well. There were no problems. Just so you know, they cook with a lot of butter and garlic, but I'm sure they could cut it down if you wanted. My daugher had shrimp and steak, fried rice (there were also vegetables, but she doesn't eat them). Plenty of food, she took it home for the next night too. I'm thinking of trying other restaurants like this in our area. Mt Fuji is expensive, but it was a great treat for all of us.

      Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

      Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

      This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

      I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
