How Can Someone Respond To An Unpinned Post?

Guest BERNESES

Hi- I got a response to a post that hadn't been pinned yet and I'm confused. I thought that no one could read posts until they were pinned? Is this not true? Thanks, Beverly

Anyone can respond to an unpinned thread.

If the thread needs to be moved all the responces are moved with it.

Guest BERNESES

Thanks- my bad. Beverly

PS Sorry Kaiti- I didn't know but now I do!

It's no problem :D

And when you go to Todays Active Posts you can see even the unpinned threads to and respond that way. It just will not show up in the section until a moderator pins it.

i'm actually curious as to why all posts are pinned, instead of just pinning the especially useful ones.

Certain things that you find important may not be to others as much and maybe things you do not find of importance are more important to others. It all depends where we are at.

hehe. sorry. i know that :). that wasn't exactly what i meant. i guess i was just thinking that pinning all of the posts doesn't seem to make much sense to me. a moderator has to pin a post for it to show up at the beginning of the forum message list. and then it acts (as in, moving up or down the queue with or without new posts) exactly the same way a post would if all posts were not pinned. it just seems like a waste of the moderator's time. and it also seems to complicate things a bit, as new posts are all the way at the end if they haven't been pinned yet. did that make sense?

anyway, not a big deal, i've just been wondering about it for a while.

Pinning topics makes it easier to tell new threads from old ones. Many threads need to be moved into new places and lots of duplicate threads need to be deleted.

I also believe that once a topic is pinned it is not moved to the top of the pile but is put in order by the time it was posted. I could be wrong, though.

Pinning topics only means that they are in the proper place.

It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.

Hi Colleen H,   I suffered with the pins and needles/burning feeling in my legs and feet for at least  6 years until my Nephrologist figured out that I had to go on a low salt diet.  He said my kidneys weren't strong enough to remove the salt.  The simple fix was a diuretic, but that med leaves the uric acid behind, so that wasn't an option.  On the bright side the low salt diet lowered my BP over 20 points and and the pins and needles/burning feeling went away.  Good Luck and hope this helps.

I did ... But aren't we going to be vitamin deficienct if we are not eating due to being sick ?? If the food we eat is gluten free and we have other sensitivities , how do we get out of the cycle??  Thank you
