I bought a case of this stuff a while back and it's just been sitting in my pantry. It is the most awful stuff to make sweets with. I've tried chocolate cookies - even a chocolate cake that was so covered in frosting you could hardly see the cake - but it's still GROSS! I can't get over the garbanzo bean taste. So I got to thinking - maybe it will be better in veggie and meat dishes.

Anyone have recipes they've tried with this that have been successful?

Nope... nothing that's been successful, AND I've gotten sick from cross contamination from it because the plant isn't completely gluten free... even though the gluten-free products are supposedly produced in a "clean" part of the facility, I know someone that has toured the factory and said that there is FLOUR dust EVERYWHERE... so I don't know how "clean" any part of that facility can be... JMHO of course... I know they Elisa batch test, but what if they missed some???

You may want to try making things that have a heartier taste that mix better with the garbanzo bean flavor. Pumpkin bread, for instance, with plenty of cinnamon and honey, can better withstand the flavor than a sweet cake. Peanut butter cookies (or muffins) may also work well with that flavor. Given that you can taste the flavor so strongly, you may want to cut it with another type of flour to reduce the taste.

You may already know that the Bob's Red Mill web site has recipes.

As a last resort, you can use the flour as filler for salmon, tuna, and hamburgers (buffalo burgers) and meatloaf. It won't go to waste that way!

I was suprised to read these comments as I was sure bob's red mill was safe. I have contacted the company and they have assured me that the products are tested and produced in a seperate facility. They even offered to test any flours I wanted to be sure they were free of contamination! They have a lot of recipes that I use on their website! I think they're great- it could just be that you don't like bean flours.

Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

      Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
