Good Afternoon Ladies,

My son is have an upper endoscopy (I think this means both directions) next Tuesday. For those of you that have had one, is there anything special I need to know or tips to help him get through the procedure as easy as possible?

Thanks,

Tamara

An endoscopy is only the top half.

Roda Rising Star

My oldest son sad an EGD last Aug. when he was 10.5. He did really good. They explained everything they were going to do before hand to him. They had to start an IV before and they used a numbing patch on the skin. No problem, but even if they didn't use it he would have been fine. They took him back and gave him the sedation in his IV. They used propofol. He wan't gone very long at all. They brought him back to recovery to wait for him to fully wake up. He was pretty groggy for a little bit, but otherwise was fine. Good luck. Make sure if you little one is going through all of this that they take at least 8-11 samples for a proper celiac biopsy.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
