Independent Review Of Records By Another Dr.

I'd like a pediatric gasteroenterologist to review my son's test results... I'm not sure how to go about this. Do I just contact the Dr. I'd like to review them and ask them to do it and how much they charge? Should I ask our HMO for a referral to one? All I'd really like the new Dr. to do is review the tests, make sure the correct ones were done and interpret the results. Has anyone done this? How did it work out?

Thanks-(I was spoiled with REALLY good insurance and doctors for many years... now have what my son's previous pediatrician likened to "K-mart medicine" stating I'll hate it. Sooooo - I'd just like to hear what a specialist has to say.)

What I would do is just request that the doctor send the test results/records to you, then you take them to whatever doctor you want to read them. You usually just have to sign a consent form for the doctor to give you a copy of the records you want. They have to give you the documents you ask for, but I know from a nurse friend of mine, that the original doctor is notified, so he can take a look at the documents, and add things to them, etc. She said it usually doesn't change anything that is contained in the document, but the doctor will know you requested copies, which is your right to do as a patient.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
